Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh invites applications for admission to Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS) Exam for the academic session 2022 at its Chandigarh Campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh will conduct conducts national level Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research Entrance Exam (PGIMER Entrance Exam) for admission to various postgraduate courses in MD\/MS and MDS. PGIMER Chandigarh was conceived and planned in 1960 to provide state of art facilities to students in medical education and research. PGIMER conducts PGIMER Entrance Exam for MD\/MS course twice a year and for MDS once a year. The first session for MD\/MS is in January and the second session is in July month. Students will be admitted to PGIMER MD\/MS or MDS course solely on the basis of All India merit list. Students can take the PGIMER entrance exam in any of the session as per their choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The test is organized by Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh for admission to MD\/MS programmes. The exam is conducted two times in a year i.e. in the month of January and July<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility Criteria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Must have passed MBBS, or its equivalent qualification, from a University\/Institute recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI)
=> Must have either completed, or due to complete, one year rotatory internship training on or before and December 31 for January 2021 session and June 30 for July 2021 session
=> Must be registered with Central \/State Medical Registration Council<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility for MDS<\/strong>
=> Applicants must have degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) of Panjab University or any other University recognized by Dental Council of India
=> Candidates have either completed, or due to complete, compulsory rotatory internship training on or before June 30, 2021
=> Must be registered with Central \/State Dental Registration Council<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to Apply<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The PGIMER 2020 application form is available on the website (www.pgimer.edu.in<\/a>), where the candidate can fill up various columns<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All candidates are required to deposit the fees in any State Bank of India branch by filling the challan form in the name of Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh (Examination), in the Power Jyoti Account No. 32211613319<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those candidates who have SBI account can also pay their fees through i-collect service no. 32222954695<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fee Structure<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

i) For SC\/ST candidates: Rs.1200\/-
ii) For all other categories: Rs.1500\/-<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instruction of Filling the Application Form:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candidate after filling the application form, must attach all the relevant certificates\/Annexure and Challan form with the application and it to Registrar, PGIMER, Sector-12, Chandigarh Registrar, PGIMER, Sector 12, Chandigarh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candidates should fill their application form available on PGIMER website www.pgimer.edu.in<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In that case the INB Reference No. will be generated and the same will be mentioned instead of Challan No. as reflected in the application form<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reservation of Seats<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In keeping with a national policy to promote the welfare of long deprived segments of our society, approximately 22.5% of the total seats are reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes\/Tribes in courses and 27% of total seats are reserved for OBC candidates for 3 Academic years and target will be achieved during the next three Academic years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5% seats are reserved for candidates who have actually worked or are working in rural areas with less than 5000 population for a minimum period of 2 years in MD\/MS Course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For MD\/MS courses, some seats are reserved for foreign nationals. However, for DM\/M.Ch. (Super-speciality) courses, there is no reservation for foreign nationals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paper Pattern<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

MD\/MS Courses<\/strong>: Candidates are assessed at a formal entrance-test on the basis of a suitably designed Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type theory paper. For candidates appearing for MD\/MS entrance examination, the theory paper consists of 250 questions pertaining to subjects studied during the MBBS course viz. Medicine and Surgery (36 questions each), Obstetrics and Gynaecology (18 questions), Paediatrics, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, ENT and Applied Biochemistry (12 questions each), and six questions each in Anatomy, Forensic Medicine, Dermatology, Anaesthesia, Physiology, Psychiatry, Social & Preventive Medicine, Radio diagnosis and Radiotherapy. The examination is of three hours duration<\/strong> and there is negative marking<\/strong>. The assessment is objective and free of human bias and subjectivity. The result of the entrance examination is declared within 24 hours and is computerised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DM\/M.Ch Courses<\/strong>: Selection of candidates is made on the basis of suitably designed MCQ type theory paper. Theory examination is of one and half-hour duration<\/strong>. There is negative marking for wrong answers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MDS Course<\/strong>: Selection of candidates is made on the basis of theory examination consisting of 100 multiple-choice questions. The duration of examination is one and half-hours<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Admit Card<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Students can download the Admit Card from the website of PGIMER: http:\/\/pgimer.edu.in\/<\/a> before the respective date of Examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Result<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

PGIMER 2020 Result will be declared very soon after completion of the test. Candidates can check their result simply by entering their application number and date of birth. Only such candidates can view their respective result who score the minimum qualifying marks as recommended by the authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
