It will consider the performance in the class 12 or equivalent qualifying examination, as well as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indcareer.com\/en\/jee-main\/\">Joint Entrance Exam, JEE (Main)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, Paper-1 (B.E.\/B.Tech.) of JEE (Main) will also serve as an eligibility test for those aspiring to take the JEE (Advanced). This step is essential for candidates who aim to secure admission in the undergraduate programs offered by the prestigious IITs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-jee-main-exam-pattern\">JEE Main Exam Pattern<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced significant changes to the Exam Pattern for JEE Main 2023. Section A will be of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and Section B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. In Section B, candidates have to attempt any 05 (five) questions out of 10. There will be negative marking for both Section A and Section B.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mode of Exam<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 The exam&nbsp;is a&nbsp;<strong>Computer Based Test<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Question type&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 The questions are&nbsp;<strong>Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Questions for which the answer is a numerical value<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Exam Duration<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 The entrance exam is of&nbsp;<strong>3 hours<\/strong>&nbsp;(if attempting only one paper) or&nbsp;<strong>3.5 hours<\/strong>&nbsp;(if attempting paper 2A and 2B both).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Language of Question Paper<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 The question paper is in language&nbsp;<strong>English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Marking Scheme<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Candidates get&nbsp;<strong>+4<\/strong>&nbsp;marks for correct answer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And negative marks is&nbsp;<strong>-1<\/strong>&nbsp;for incorrect answers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-jee-main\">JEE Main<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination Main) is a national-level entrance examination in India for admission to undergraduate engineering and architecture programs.
