The programs equip students to undertake interdisciplinary research by providing a broad-based practical training in the best in the class national laboratories of CSIR. The Programs are structured around academic coursework (as per program requirement) and mandatory courses viz. one Project Proposal &amp; one Review Article writing; and Societal Program; and research in frontier areas of Science, Technology and Engineering leading to Ph.D degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AcSIR Ph.D Engineering Program Admission<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"courses-offered\">Courses Offered:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>=> Ph.D Engineering Courses<br>=> Direct Ph.D Engineering Courses<br>=> Sponsored Ph.D Engineering Courses<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"important-dates\">Important Dates:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ph.D Engineering Important dates section aims to list all important dates such as date of availability of form, last submission date, result date, counselling date, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Activation of AcSIR Admission Portal: 25-02-2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Closing date of online admission portal: 30-04-2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interview\/Test: 20-05-2024 to 05-06-2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Declaration of Results of: 12-07-2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students Joining: 20-07-2024 to 05-08-2024<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"eligibility-criteria\">Eligibility Criteria:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PhD (Engineering): Regular<\/strong><br>Masters degree in Engineering or Technology (after a four year engineering\/technology degree or<br>with an integrated 5 year B.Tech.\/M.Tech. degree or equivalent) with minimum 55% marks (without<br>rounding off) or equivalent grade for General (UR)\/General-EWS and minimum 50% marks (without rounding off) or equivalent grade for OBC (NCL)\/SC\/ST, Third gender and Persons with Disability (PwD). <strong>OR<\/strong><br>Project Assistants, Senior Research Fellows, Group-IV Scientists and Group-III Technical Staff of CSIR and other Associate Academic Centers of AcSIR(non-CSIR) are eligible to apply. NOC from the current employer is mandatory<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PhD (Engineering): Sponsored<\/strong><br>Masters degree in Engineering or Technology (after a four year engineering\/technology degree or with an integrated 5 year B.Tech.\/M.Tech. degree or equivalent) with minimum 55% marks (without<br>rounding off) or equivalent grade for General (UR)\/General-EWS and minimum 50% marks (without rounding off) or equivalent grade for OBC (NCL)\/SC\/ST, Third Gender and Persons with Disability (PwD). Endorsement (NOC) from the current employer is mandatory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates whose final results are awaited, but are otherwise eligible as per the screening criteria, can also apply. If selected, they will be provisionally admitted to the program. Their continuation in the program will be subject to securing required percentage\/ equivalent grade (depending on the cut-off marks for screening for the specific program) and submission of marks-sheet of their final result at the time of joining the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"application-procedure\">Application Procedure:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The candidates can exercise a maximum of three preferences for CSIR Labs (which are AcSIR centers). Candidates will be screened based on their preferences given. However, it does not give any right to the candidate to offered admission as per his\/her preference\/ choice, as the selection is purely based on merit\/ performance and\/ or available vacancies. Please visit AcSIR website (http:\/\/acsir.res.in) for details of on-line application form submission and additional details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Short-listed candidates for the program will be intimated electronically and they will be required to appear for interview for selection at the designated centers on the dates announced. Details of date of interview at different laboratories\/ centers will be posted on the AcSIR website (http:\/\/acsir.res.in).<br>In addition to their academic performance and\/ or depending on the vacancies, final selection will be based on performance of the candidate in the interview.
