IEI is the pioneer body to introduce non \u2013 formal engineering education program, successful completion of which is recognised as equivalent to a degree in engineering by the government of India, the union public service commission, state governments and public \/ private sector organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IEI with its headquarters at Kolkata operates through 18 state centres & 76 local centres located at capital and towns of industrial and academic importance all over the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The institution of engineers (India) was formed and registered at madras in 1920. The institution was granted a royal charter of incorporation in 1935 by his Majesty King George V of England.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Institution of Engineers India institution is the largest professional organisation in India with a membership of over 400000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility Criteria <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Polytechnic Diploma, Diploma from IETE, IME, ICE, IGNOU, CIPET and NTTF etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diploma after ITI (lateral entry). Candidates who have passed 2-year ITI\/Vocational Courses in specified trade, after class X and have got lateral entry directly in Second year of 3 year Engineering Diploma Courses being conducted by respective State Board of Technical Education will be considered for Senior Technician Membership of the Institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Corporate Members of IEI (FIE \/ MIE \/ AMIE) in any discipline provided he\/she has not completed section B examination of IEI or Graduate degree in Engineering in the same discipline earlier.Six years from the Registration of Section B Examination.<\/td>		Six years after completion of Section A
