Important Dates:
- Application form availability: 14th October 2023 to 4th November 2023
- Last date for submission of the application form: 7th November 2023 (4 PM)
- Entrance Test Date: 24th December 2023
Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examinations (10+2) in the relevant streams.
- For some programs, candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination in the Science stream (PCM / PCB) with English from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% aggregate.
- Those awaiting results of the final examination of the qualifying degree can also apply.

Application Fee:
- General/OBC candidates: Rs. 2500 (Entrance Fee) + Rs. 300 (Application Fee)
- SC/ST candidates: Rs. 2000 (Entrance Fee) + Rs. 300 (Application Fee)
Selection Process:
- Admission will be based on the PhD Entrance Test and an interview.
Entrance Test Details:
- The qualifying examination will be two hours long, carrying 100 marks.
- There will be 100 multiple-choice objective type questions, each carrying one mark. Questions are categorized into Group A and Group B.
- Group A: Basic concepts of Research Methodology (20 questions, common for all subjects).
- Group B: Understanding of the subject matter as per the Post Graduation syllabus of Ranchi University from compulsory papers of the subject concerned (80 questions).
- The merit list for admission to the Ph.D. Programme will be prepared according to the admission roster followed by Ranchi University. The minimum cut-off marks in the entrance test for qualification will be 50 for General and BC candidates and 45 for SC/ST candidates.
