CEED 2025 was conducted on 19 January 2025. Its score card has released. The CEED is an important national-level design entrance examination conducted by the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay).
The primary purpose of this exam is to facilitate admissions to prestigious institutions such as IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Roorkee, offering M.Des and PhD programs.

CEED stands for Common Entrance Examination for Design, and it serves as a gateway for securing admission to M.Des and PhD programs in the aforementioned institutes.

Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have completed a degree/diploma/post graduate degree programme of minimum THREE years (after 10+2 level), or must be appearing for the final examination of such a program by July 2024, or must have passed the GD Arts diploma programme (10+5 level) by July 2024.
- Note that the eligibility criteria for admission to various institutes may differ from the eligibility criteria for appearing for CEED. Before applying for CEED, candidates are advised to check whether they meet the required eligibility criteria for admission to various institutes.
- There is no age limit to appear for CEED. Also, a candidate can appear for CEED any number of times.
Application Process
- CEED registration form must be submitted ONLINE ONLY through the official website, http://www.ceed.iitb.ac.in
- The normal registration fee shown above is applicable till the regular closing date of registration. A late fee of Rs. 500 is applicable to ALL candidates for registrations submitted after the regular closing date.
Application Fee
- Rs. 1600 for all women candidates
- Rs. 1600 for (SC/ST/PwD) candidates
- Rs. 3200 for all other candidates
Exam Pattern
Likewise, the CEED exam structure is also published by IIT Bombay. Important features of the Common Entrance Examination for Design are as follows. However check official website ceed.iitb.ac.in from time to time for any changes in the exam pattern.

Key aspects of the test are as follows.
- Parts in Exam: This examination will consist of two parts, Part-A and Part-B
- Mode of Exam – The Part A is a Computer Based Test, for Part B Answers To Be Marked on Paper.
- Question type – The questions are Part A – Numerical Answer Type (NAT), Multiple Choice Question (MCQ), and Multiple Select Question (MSQ); Part B – Design Based.
- Number of Questions – There are 46 questions in the entrance exam.
- Total Marks – Maximum marks in the exam is 200.
- Exam Duration – The entrance exam is of 3 hours.
CEED Examination Cities
The CEED examination is conducted in following cities: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram. Students will have chosen one of the centers from this list itself.
