Alipurduar University is a public university established by an Act of the West Bengal government notified in 2018. It is a newly established affiliating university in Alipurduar, West Bengal.
Previously known as Alipurduar College, it was established in 1957 (as Alipurduar College) with financial assistance from the Government of India. It got the initial recognition as a government-sponsored college affiliated to the University of North Bengal under the Refugee Rehabilitation and Development Programme of the Union Government and in due course came under the 2F and 12B category of the University Grants Commission.
