Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:
=> Candidates must possess Master’s degree in the concerned subject with at least 55% in the aggregate or equivalent CGPA 5.5/10 in the qualifying examination (first post-graduate degree)
=> There shall be a relaxation of 5% marks (or equivalent grade point average) for Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribes (ST)/ Physically Challenged (PC) candidates in the minimum marks (or CGPA) required in the qualifying exam

=> General nature, comprising Fundamentals of Faculty, Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge, Quantitative Ability, and Computer Awareness (15 questions of 1 marks each)
=> Questions to assess the research-related reasoning and writing skills of the candidate (15 questions of 1 mark each)
=> Subject related questions of specialized nature related to particular discipline of Faculty (30 questions of 1.5 marks each)
All the questions will be of multiple-choice in nature. There shall be no negative marking. No re-evaluation of the answer books of the written test will be allowed
The passing marks for qualifying various components of M.Phil. RET (written, interview, etc.) would be as follows:
Written exam individually – 30% (25% for SC/ST/PC)
Written exam and interview – 50% (45% for SC/ST/PC)
Only Interview (for M.Phil RET Exempt category) – 50% (45% for SC/ST/PC)
