The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). CMAT is an entrance exam for taking admission to management programs offered at the AICTE approved institutes across India.

CMAT Syllabus

AICTE does not have a defined syllabus for CMAT exam. Following are the major topics to be covered in each section of CMAT

 

Language Comprehension

  • Grammar, tenses, vocabulary,
  • Jumbled paragraphs and reading comprehension
  • Usage of Articles, Non-finites
  • Nouns, Pronouns (Especially relative Pronouns)
  • Adjectives, adverbs, prepositions
  • Verbs, Syntax
  • Perfect tenses and Conditional-unreal past
  • Synonyms & Antonyms
  • One word Substitution
  • Sentence Improvement

 

CMAT gives you shorter with 500-600 words and not too difficult passages.

 

Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation

  • Table and Pie chart in data interpretation section
  • Arithmetic (ratios, mixtures, work, averages, profit & loss, basic statistics etc),
  • Number properties,
  • Probability and Counting Principles
  • Geometry
  • Derivatives (i.e. maxima –minima)

 

Logical Reasoning

  • Arrangements like linear, seating, sequencing & arranging with conditions to coding
  • Statement-Conclusion
  • Logical puzzle
  • Numerical puzzle
  • Venn Diagram
  • True/False Statements
  • Visual Reasoning

 

General awareness

  • Conventional GK-available in books;
  • Current GK- based on current reading of newspapers and periodicals;
  • Business & Economics GK
  • Business, national and international awareness
  • Constitutional knowledge;
  • Current affairs; business; economics;
  • currency and Capitals of the countries

 

Students should keep themselves updated with all the recent happenings by going through the newspaper thoroughly and reading it will full concentration.
