Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI), Siruseri invites applications for admissions to UG PG Courses for the academic year 2016- 17.

UG PG Courses is conducted by Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI), Siruseri.

Courses Offered:

B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics and Computer Science (3 year integrated course).
B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics and Physics (3-year integrated course).
M.Sc. in Mathematics.
M.Sc. in Applications of Mathematics.
M.Sc. in Computer Science.
Ph.D. in Mathematics.
Ph.D. in Computer Science.
Ph.D. in Physics.

Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:

B.Sc. (Hons.) Mathematics and Computer Science:
- 12th standard or equivalent.

B.Sc. (Hons.) Mathematics and Physics:
- 12th standard or equivalent.

M.Sc. in Mathematics:
- B.Sc.(Math)/B.Math/B.Stat/B.E./B.Tech.

M.Sc. in Applications of Mathematics:
- B.Sc.(Math/Physics/Statistics)/B.Math/B.Stat/B.E./B.Tech.

M.Sc. in Computer Science:
- B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc.(C.S.)/B.C.A. or B.Sc.(Math) with a strong background in C.S.

Ph.D. in Mathematics:
- B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc.(Math)/M.Sc.(Math).

Ph.D. in Computer Science:
- B.E/B.Tech/M.Sc.(C.S.)/M.C.A.

Ph.D. in Physics:
- B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc.(Physics)/M.Sc.(Physics).

Application Procedure:

Applying Online
=> The preferred mode of applying to CMI's programmes is to fill out the online application form. Click on the appropriate link below.
=> Application form for all undergraduate (BSc) programmes

Note: You need not choose between BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Computer Science and BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Physics at the time of applying. The choice can be made after admission.

=> The application fee is Rs 600. See below for more details.

=> The application fee is Rs 600 or Rs 700, depending on the combination of programmes that you apply for. See below for more details about how the application fee is calculated and to be paid.

Printed Application Forms
=> You can obtain application forms and information brochures by post. Please send a DD for Rs. 700/- in favour of Chennai Mathematical Institute, drawn on any bank, payable at Chennai to the following address, preferably by Speed Post or courier:

Indicate clearly your name, address and the programme(s) you are applying for.

For BSc, you need not choose between BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Computer Science and BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Physics at the time of applying.

For MSc/Ph.D., you can apply for multiple programmes (see below for more details) but you need to send only a single DD.

Fee Details:

Printed application forms
=> If you request a printed application form, the application fee is Rs 700 for all categories of applications, including applications for multiple MSc/PhD programmes.

=> For printed application forms, only DD payment is accepted. The DD should be made in favour of Chennai Mathematical Institute, drawn on any bank, payable at Chennai. The DD should be sent along with your request for a form as explained above.

Online applications
=> For online BSc applications, the application fee is Rs 600.
=> For online MSc/Ph.D. applications, the normal application fee is Rs 600. If you apply to more than one MSc programme, the fee is Rs 700. There is no extra fee for applying for both Ph.D. and MSc in Mathematics or Computer Science. The exact fee payable will be displayed when you fill out the application form.
=> If you apply online, you can pay the fee online or via DD. Instructions are provided as part of the UG application form and PG application form.

Chennai Mathematical Institute, Siruseri
Chennai Mathematical Institute is a centre of excellence for teaching and research in the mathematical sciences. It was founded in 1989 as a part of the SPIC Science Foundation, funded by the SPIC group in Chennai. Since 1996, it has been an autonomous institution. CMI is managed by a Governing Council consisting of eminent persons. Today, CMI is a rare example of public-private partnership in research and education in India. The Institute receives major private funding, side by side with substantial financial support from the Government of India.
