Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) Kottayam invites applications for admissions to Mahatma Gandhi University Common Admission Test (CAT MGU) for the academic year 2016- 17.

Mahatma Gandhi University Common Admission Test (CAT MGU) is an yearly exam conducted for admissions to the Post Graduate academic Programmes at Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) Kottayam

CAT MGU is conducted by Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) Kottayam

Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:
M.Sc Chemistry (Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry):
- B.Sc degree in Chemistry with Mathematics and Physics as subsidiaries with not less than 50% marks or CGPA of 2 in Part III

M.Sc Physics (with Elective papers in many frontier areas of Physics):
- B.Sc degree in Physics with Mathematics as subsidiary with not less than 50% marks or CGPA of 2 in part III

M.Sc (in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biophysics):
- B.Sc degree in Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry or Physics with not less 50% marks or CGPA of 2 in part III

M.Sc (Environmental Science and Management):
- B.Sc degree in any of the following optional; Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics, Geology, Geography, Life Science, Environment Sci. Environment Mgt., Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Plant or Animal Science, Agriculture, Fisheries, Aquaculture, Horticulture, Forestry, B.Tech in Civil/Mechanical/Chemical/Environmental or equivalent exam with not less than 50% marks or CGPA of 2 in Part III

M.Sc (Environmental Science and Disaster Management):
- B.Sc degree in any subject with not less than 505 marks or CGPA of 2 in part III

M.A. Malayalam:
- Bachelor’s degree in the subject concerned with not less than 45% marks (or CGPA of 1.8) in part III or degree in Arts/Science with a minimum of 50% marks (or CGPA of 2) in part II Malayalam

MA English:
- Bachelor’s degree in the subject concerned with not less than 45% marks (or CGPA of 1.8) in part III or degree in Arts/Science with a minimum of 50% marks (or CGPA of 2) in part I English

MA in Politics & International Relations, MA Politics & Human Rights, MA Politics (Public Policy and governance)-UGC Sponsored Program:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Politics/History/Law with not less than 45% marks (or CGPA of 1.8) in part III or degree in English /Sociology /Anthropology/Psychology /Geography /Philosophy /Commerce with not less than 50% marks (or CGPA of 2) in part III or graduates in Science with not less than 60% marks for Part III

M.A. Gandhian Studies, MA Development Studies:
- Bachelor’s degree in any subject with not less than 45% marks (or CGPA of 1.8) in part III

M.A. in History, Anthropology:
- Bachelor’s degree in the faculty of social sciences with not less than 45% marks (or CGPA of 1.8) in Part III

M.Sc in Disability Studies and Rehabilitation Sciences:
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts with not less than 555 marks (or CGPA of 1.8) in Part III or any science degree with a minimum of 50% marks (or CGPA of 2) in part III

M.Sc Psychology:
- BA/B.Sc Psychology with not less than 50% marks (or CGPA of 2) in part III

M.Sc Computer Science:
- B.Sc degree in Computer Science/Computer Application/BCA or any other B.Sc degree with Computer Science as the main subject with not less than 50% marks (or CGPA of 2) part III

MTTM (with specialization in Aviation Mgt., Tour Operations and Health Tourism):
- Bachelor’s degree (including professional degrees) with not less than 505 marks (or CGPA of 2) in any discipline of this University or any other University recognized by MGU

LL.M
- LL.B with not less than 50% marks (or CGPA of 2) in the aggregate

M.Ed in language Education (English, Malayalam, Hindi, Arabic and Sanskrit), Mathematics, Education, Science Education, Social Science Education, Commerce Education, IT Education
- B.Ed with not less than 55% marks or CGPA of 2.2

M.A. in Economics
- Bachelors degree in Economics Mathematics/Statistics under 10+2+3 pattern of education with atleast 45% marks (or CGPA of 1.8) in Core and Complementary subjects or equivalent degree from an institution approved by MGU

Application Procedure:

- There is only a single online application for applying for the Entrance Test (CAT-MGU) and for giving options for admission to the various academic programmes in the different teaching departments. If a candidate submits more than one application, his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled. The online registration for CAT-MGU will start from 16th March 2016

- Applicants for M.Ed should send the hard copy of the application along with self-attested copies of degree certificate, mark lists of qualifying exam and proof for weightage points to the Director, School of Pedagogical Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, PIN-686560 so as to reach the addressee on or before 16th May 2016

Fee Details:

For General Candidates: Rs.500/- per each program
For SC/ST Candidates from Kerala: Rs.250/- per each program
After remitting the fee and ensuring the correctness of the application once again, the candidate should click the Final Submit button
