Department of Laws

The Department of Laws was established in the year 2003 as The P.S.D. Institute of Law. After the establishment of B.P.S. Mahila Vishwadyalaya in 2006 it became a part of the University as The Department of Laws. It was initially housed in the College of Education from where it moved to its present location in 2005. Now the Department sits in an Independent building stretching over 28 acres of land giving the Department a lavish and sprawling look.

Set up with the purpose of advancing the course of interdisciplinary approach in the study of Law and other social and natural sciences, it strives to cater to the needs of the society by developing Professional skills in the students and awakening gender justice. The Department tirelessly pursues the motive of grooming the students to take the daunting challenges of life in a liberalized and globalized environment wherein Law and the Lawyer have a pivotal role to play by being socially relevant. The Institute emphasizes on strong foundation of social science, constant innovation and experimentation in teaching methods, incorporating emerging areas of Law in the syllabi on a regular basis and inculcating a critical thought process in the students.
