The Bharathi Education Society which subsequently became the Bharathi Education Trust has its headquarters at BET campus, Bharathinagara, Maddur Tq, Karnataka. It was founded in 1962 by Sri G. Madegowda, the honourable ex-member of parliament and former minister, Govt. of Karnataka. It is aimed at fulfilling all the educational, cultural, social and other aspirations of the people in and around Bharathinagara, which was then a small hamlet of no significance.
