Department of Journalism and Mass Communication
The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication was established in 1973 in the Faculty of Arts.
It runs a 2-year (four semesters) Master of Arts in Mass Communication course with a provision for specialization and a mandatory 8-10 weeks of internship programme. The departmental library has more than 5 thousand titles. It has a computer laboratory of 15 systems with Internet connectivity. The departmental film library has more than 200 CDs and DVDs. It has the state of the art equipment for TV and radio programme production. Till date, more than ten doctoral students have successfully completed their Ph. D degrees from the department. The department publishes its students’ laboratory news bulletin called Parisar.
