XAT Syllabus
XAT Exam has five sections and the XAT Syllabus is also divided into the following 5
Sections.
- Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension.
- Quantitative Aptitude.
- General Awareness.
- Decision Making.
- Essay Writing Test
- Part 1- Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making and Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation (175 minutes)
- Part 2- Mock Keyboard Testing (5 minutes)
- Part 3- General Knowledge + Essay Writing (30 minutes)
The XAT question paper will have 100 questions in MCQ format from the aforementioned subjects.

XAT Syllabus 2024 has 5 Sections instead of earlier 4 sections.
Subjective Question on Essay Writing has been restored to XAT Exam Syllabus 2024.
Total number of questions as per XAT Exam 2024 pattern not to exceed 101.
All questions in first 4 sections will be of MCQ type.
Essay Writing test in descriptive type.
75 Questions with negative marking.
25 GK Questions without negative marking.
Essay Writing Test is without negative marking.
Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT)
Xavier Admission Test (XAT) is a national-level entrance exam, for admission into the postgraduate management programs at Xavier Institutes, conducted by Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur. Besides XLRI and other Xavier Institutes, hosts of other reputed Top B-Schools in India also accept XAT scores including Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Chennai and Goa Institutes of Management, Indian Institute of Finance, New Delhi and S P Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai.
