Indian Veterinary Council of India invites applications for All India Pre Veterinary Test (AIPVT). AIPVT is a common entrance examination for admission into 1st year of B.V.Sc. & A.H. course for filling up 15% of total number of seats on Merit in each Veterinary College of India. The entrance exam is conducted on the behalf of Veterinary Council of India (VCI) New Delhi. The duration of B.V.Sc. & A.H. (Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry) degree course is five years including six months of compulsory rotating Internship.

Nationality:
- He/She is an Indian national. Since the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 have not been extended to the State of Jammu & Kashmir, candidates from that State shall not be eligible to appear in the said examination unless they submit an Affidavit in enclosed Proforma on Non–Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs. 10/- duly attested by Metropolitan Magistrate/First Class Judicial Magistrate to the effect that: - They are not eligible to compete for B.V.Sc. & A.H. seats in the State of Jammu & Kashmir and hence, not eligible to seek admission in Veterinary Colleges of Jammu & Kashmir and they are not domicile of Jammu & Kashmir.
- He/She has attained or will attain the age of Seventeen (17) years as on 31st December 2017. Candidates attaining seventeen years on 1st of January, 2017 or later will not be eligible to appear at the AIPVT. The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under 15% All India Quota Seats is 25 years as on 1st December 2017. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes.
Minimum Marks:
- The Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years of study, the last two years of study with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Educational Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 (years) educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education. OR
- The Intermediate Examination in Science from a recognized University/Board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (which shall include a practical test in these subjects) and English as a core course.
a) He/ She has passed the qualifying examination with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as core course or an examination equivalent to intermediate Science examination of an Indian University/ Board recognised by the Association of Indian Universities taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology including a practical test in each of these subjects and English.
b) A candidate under General Category for admission to the B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course must have passed in each of these subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and obtained 50% marks in aggregate of these subjects, at the qualifying examination. Admission of students to B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course shall be made only on the basis of his/her merit in the competitive entrance examination. No other merit/ weightage shall be considered for admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course.
c) In respect of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes/ the Scheduled Tribes or another special category of students as specified by the Government from time to time, marks required for admission shall be 10% less than that prescribed for general category. Where the seats reserved for the Scheduled Caste and the Scheduled Tribes students in any State cannot be filled for want of requisite number of candidates fulfilling the minimum requirement prescribed by that State, then such vacancies shall be filled up on All India basis with students belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes getting not less than the minimum prescribed pass percentage.

Online Application Form cannot be withdrawn once it is submitted successfully. The Candidate is NOT required to submit printout of the Confirmation Page to the VCI
Steps to be followed to Apply Online
Step 1: Download the Information Bulletin and read it carefully to ensure your eligibility to appear at the examination
Step 2: Read the instructions for applying online given in the Information Bulletin and keep entire information ready including scanned images of Photograph, Signature, thumb impression and self-declaration (in the case of candidates belonging to J&K) in JPG format only
Step 3: Fill the Online Application Form and upload Scanned Images of Photograph, Signature, thumb impression and self-declaration (setf-dedaration is required in the case of candidates belonging to J&K only)
Step 4: Pay Examination Fee by Debit/ Credit card or e-Challan
Step 5:Download the Confirmation Page and keep the same in safe custody along with proof of remittance of fees for future reference and records
The examination consists of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology). The distribution of questions shall be as follows:

The Admit cards for AIPVT 2017 Entrance examination will be sent to applicants through speed post before one or two weeks of exam date. In case one does not get the admit card then he/she must contact ‘The Controller of Examination” at the above provided address. Your AIPVT admit card will specify the examination center, and seat number.
All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) is a Medical Entrance test conduct by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) for admission to 1st year of B.V.Sc & A.H. Course on 15% of All India Quota Seats in Veterinary Colleges in India. Students who had applied for this Test and will appear for the examination can download AIPVT 2017 Results online by login in official website.
AIPVT-2017 counseling Round 1- Online
During the round 1 of AIPVT 2017 counseling, only the registered candidates have the option of choice filling and locking. Choices for colleges opted will be processed for allotment of seats.
The criteria for eligibility and non-eligibility for round 1 is given below:

(a) Exercising of Choice Filling and Locking –The choice for Veterinary colleges can be selected and locked by candidates by clicking on save button. While exercising choices for colleges, candidate can interchange their opted choices number of times. But once the choice is locked and saved by candidates they cannot be either changed or unlocked. Once the choice is locked by candidates, the list of selected Veterinary colleges as per choice will appear on the screen for printing.
(b) Process of Seat Allotment – The seats will be allotted to candidates according to their rank and in order of choice opted for Veterinary colleges.
(c) Publication of Result for allottment of seat of round 1 –The candidate can check his/her result on the Council’s website aipvt.vci.nic.in by clicking link Result Round 1. The result will have the detail of allotted college to candidates as per their merit of choice and rank.
(d) Reporting to Allotted Veterinary College – Candidates have to report to allotted Veterinary colleges within the given dates to complete admission formalities.
Candidates who shall not report after seat allotment in round 1 at allotted Veterinary colleges shall not be eligible for counseling in further rounds
AIPVT-2017 counseling Round 2- Online:
During the round 2 of counseling, only the registered candidates have the option to change/alter their choices as selected in round 1 and can also submit new choices (if not changed, earlier choices submitted by the candidate will be taken as final). Choices for colleges opted will be processed for allotment of seats. In round 2 there will be no new registration.
