The Amrita Entrance Examination-Engineering (AEEE) is conducted by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham every year on an all-India basis for admission to their 4 year B.Tech Degree programmes offered in the three campuses - Amritapuri (Kollam), Bengaluru and Ettimadai (Coimbatore).

Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria will be admitted to the first year of B.Tech programmes through counselling, based on their ranks in the Entrance Examination.

The candidates should carefully go through all the eligibility criteria mentioned in the brochure.

  • The Candidate should be born on or after 1st July 1996.
  • Individuals need to have secured a minimum total of 60% altogether in PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) subjects and individually not less than 55% in every subject.
  • Candidates who have passed their three-year diploma in Engineering with minimum 60% marks from any State Board of Technical Education or its equivalent would be eligible.
  • If the Candidate is appearing for their 12th exams, they can also apply.


Scholarship Scheme For B.Tech. Programme a Fees Waiver Based On Rank In Amrita Entrance Examination Engineering (AEEE)

10% of students admitted in each branch are eligible for scholarship in the first year of B.Tech. study in each of the three campuses based on merit. This will be renewed in subsequent years as per the University rules. It is awarded as waiver of tuition fees ranging from 90% to 25% depending on the rank in the Amrita Entrance Examination-Engineering (AEEE) 2017.

Number of Scholarships awarded under this scheme will be as below:

If a scholarship holder under this scheme (A) withdraws after the admission, the next rank holder would be eligible for the scholarship.

Application Form

After all, the points in eligibility criteria are met, the candidates can go ahead and fill up the AEEE application forms. The AEEE application form is available in online as well as offline more. Candidates can choose whichever suits them.

AEEE Online Application

The application will start from 1st November, 2017.

To apply AEEE through online method, the candidates need to go through following steps
=> Open the official website of Amrita University i.e.
=> Register yourself by entering the name and email address. Once registered, you will get a user ID and password. Note down these details at a secure place, it will be used for all further purpose.
=> Now login to the portal using the login & password provided. Once logged in, start filling the details in the application form. Upload your signature and a coloured photo.

The application fees is Rs. 1000/-. You can pay it online using credit card/debit card/net banking. Once payment is done, you should take the print out of your application form and keep the same safe for your future reference.

AEEE Offline Application

If you are not comfortable with online method, you can go for the traditional offline method for application. The Candidates can obtain the printed OMR application form from the registered sales outlet, banks and offices with the payment of Rs. 1000/-. The application can also be obtained directly from three campuses of the institute. In this case, candidates need to obtain the demand draft of Rs. 1000/-. The draft should be in favour of Amrita School of Engineering payable at Coimbatore.

Besides, candidates can also request the application form through the post from the three campuses of the institute i.e. Bengaluru, Amritapuri and Coimbatore. To get the application form via post candidates need to send a written request containing full communication address along with a demand draft of Rs, 1000/-. The draft should be drawn in favour of Amrita School of Engineering payable at Coimbatore.

The duly submitted form should be sent back to the same campus from where the application form was requested.

AEEE Exam Pattern

The exam pattern mainly defines the internal structure of the exam. The AEEE 2017 will be held in Computer Based Test (CBT) & Pen & Paper Based Test (P&P) mode as well as offline mode. The total time duration of the exam is 3 hours only.

=> The questions asked in the exam shall be objective type questions.
=> Total 120 questions shall be put up in the question paper: 35 questions will be from chemistry, 35 from physics and 50 questions will be from maths.

The Candidates should note that Negative markings are applicable. For every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted. For every correct answer, 3 marks will be awarded.

About Computer Based Test (CBT)
It is assumed that the candidate has a basic knowledge about the computer, use of key board and mouse.
Candidate should acquire these skills before appearing for CBT. The candidate sits in front of the allotted computer which is connected to the server. The test software presents multiple choice questions on the monitor. Number of questions for the test is 100. The candidate answers the questions in preferred sequence.
Candidates in different slots will get different question sets. Before finalising the question sets, an expert committee will ensure that the question sets are of comparable standards with respect to content, nature of questions and difficulty level. The decision of the expert committee in this matter will be final and binding on the candidates.

About Pen & Paper Based Test (P&P)
Printed question booklets in 4 different versions are distributed among the candidates. The question booklet contains 100 multiple choice questions. The answers are to be marked in printed OMR answer sheet. An expert committee will ensure that the question set of P&P is of comparable standard with respect to content, nature of questions and difficulty level when compared with the question sets of computer based test. The decision of the expert committee in this matter will be final and binding on the candidates.

AEEE Admit Card

The AEEE 2017 Admit card will be made available for downloading on the official website. The tentative date for is in the month of April 2017. The candidates will be required to download the admit card from the official website and get it printed. The admit card is an essential document which must be brought to the exam hall at the time of the exam. The candidates are advised to check the details on the admit card and if any discrepancy is found, it should be informed to the competent authority.

AEEE Result

The results will be announced by the concerned authority on the AEEE official website in the month of May 2017. A direct link will be posted here once it is announced by the university. Final admissions shall be made on the basis of counselling results.
