A two-day multi-district PETS and SETS Training Programme commenced

A two-day multi-district training seminar for newly elect Presidents and Secretaries of District 3054 and 3060 was commenced at Kshipra Path situated India International School auditorium on Saturday. This two days programme was hosted by Rotary Club Jaipur Marugandha and Rotary Club Surat West in which Rotary International President Ian Riseley and Rotary International Director Dr. Manoj Desai were the chief guest on the occasion.

The inaugural ceremony was commenced after the announcement made by DG Rotarian Ramesh Choudhary. Counsellor Dr. Ashok Gupta welcomed the participants and explained the importance of Rotary. He apprised the gathering on how rotary is different from other community service and civic institutions. He also urged the newly elected Rotary members to interact with each other and ask questions which would help them in leading Rotary Clubs.

Rotary International Director Dr. Manoj Desai explained the importance of Strategic Planning. Dr. Desai said that Rotary is confined to three verticals which are Support and Strengthen Clubs, Focus and Increase Humanitarian Services and Enhance Public Image and Services.

“Support and Strengthen Clubs, Focus and Increase Humanitarian Services and Enhance Public Image and Services, these are the three verticals which is when combined known as Strategic Planning which would eventually help Rotary clubs and districts to work towards one direction”, Dr. Desai said.
“In coming years, Rotary clubs and districts work towards creating strategic planning and implementing it. Dr. Desai asserted.”

While talking about the work taken up by the Rotary International, Dr. Desai said that except three countries, rest of the world is polio eradicated which is a big achievement. Also, Rotary has taken up Ganga Cleaning Campaign on which it is working with the government.

Rotary International President Ian Riseley while addressing the gathering said that India will be the next shining star of Rotary not because large number of people from this country are associated to Rotary but the amount of social services work done in this country has never been seen in any other country.

While talking about the importance of Rotary clubs and its leadership Mr. Riseley has said that Rotary International is expecting a lot from
Rotary Clubs. Riseley emphasized on the importance of leadership of Rotary Club.

“The image of Rotary International could be improved only if Rotary clubs functions properly,” Riseley asserted.

Dr. Raakhi Gupta, Co-ordinator delivered the expression of gratitude to the participants and delegates.

Therefore, Mr. Ian Riseley, Dr. Manoj Desai and Dr. Ashok Gupta flag off the car rally which is a friendly rally by four Rotarians who will cover around 35500 km and almost 25 countries to spread the message of Service above Self of Rotary.

This programme witnessed the presence of around 400 participants from Gujarat and Rajasthan comprising next year’s presidents and secretaries, in the presence of their District Governors.

It is a unique opportunity for incoming club leaders to prepare for their leadership roles in the coming year.

Rotarians admit that only good teachers are able to provide quality education to the youth. To improve the quality of education, teachers required to be more updated and skilled.

    CBSE wants schools to form integrity clubs to impart moral values in students. The board has advised schools to tell students the negative effects of television, internet and cell phones. Integrity clubs will be functioning just like community groups for imparting human values among student by means of workshop, games and different activities in schools. Integrity Club will consist of students from class 6th to 9th standard from the age group of 11 to 16 years. This club will instill values in integrity, love, patriotism, compassion, tolerance, secularism, unity, simplicity and honesty.
