Goa Institute of Management to host its Grand Alumni Meet

One of the foremost management institutes in the country, Goa Institute of Management (GIM) will host its annual Grand Alumni Meet, - an evocative event that marks a homecoming, celebration and unparalleled joy of communion with the Alma Mater at its campus in Sanquelim on 14th August 2016.

The institute known for its diverse alumni base will organise myriad activities this year for existing students as well as its alumni. The alumni meet will witness students from various batches of the prestigious institute coming together to celebrate and share experiences. This year, the Alumni meet will centre on the theme of ‘From Entrepreneur to Enterprise’.

It has been 23 years since the institute’s inception, and this event will host several successful graduates that have walked out of the institute’s doors over the decades. The meet will not only help the alumni reconnect with their batch mates, but will also serve as a medium for present students to meet with the past pupils. Mr V. Ravi, Executive Director & CFO, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd., will start the day with an introductory talk. This will be followed by an alumni-student interactive sessions, which aims at giving the students insights into the fields that they are majoring in. The interactive sessions will be followed by the Annual General Body Meeting between the alumni and management as well as a short ceremony to present the Alumni Achiever’s Award.

Further on in the afternoon, an entrepreneurship conclave is planned on the theme & From Entrepreneur to Enterprise & Mr Samarjeet Singh Director and Founder of Iksula and alumnus of GIM, will give a talk as part of the conclave session. The event will also serve as a platform for alumni and students alike, to interact and network with the entrepreneurs invited to the event. The Grand Alumni Meet will not be ‘all work and no play’, and to prove it, a game of gully cricket will be organised by Prayas - the sports cell of GIM.

The grand alumni meet will prove to be an ideal opportunity for the alumni to break away from the cocoons of their corporate lives for an evening of homecoming and celebration to renew old bonds, foster new ties and relive the magical years they had at the GIM campus.
