Superhero characters are always a part of everybody’s fantasies because we can easily relate to it. On the occasion of International Girls Day, The IIS University is celebrating the heroism of the students through the eighth IISU annual fest COSMOS 2015 that kicks start on Thursday at the IIS University campus. Dr. Ashok Gupta, Vice-Chancellor of the university formally announced the opening of 8th Annual Cultural Fest by lightning the lamp. He also wished all the participants and organizers to make it a huge success.
This fest is dedicated to the celebration of creativity and it is a stimulating event brimming with youthful dynamism.
With the various events including music, dance literary, creative writing and much more, the festival is seeing the campus turning into a veritable kaleidoscope of people who are not only competing in various events but also celebrating the synergy of youth.
During the first day of the fest, debate, creative writing, entertainment quiz etc were organized to bring out the inherent talent and creativity of the students. In these inter collegiate competitions students from around 15 colleges and universities of the city have participated.
Apart from this, the students have shown their creativity in Fantasy, peace, Halloween, universe and Marine Life theme based Face Painting and Hand Painting Competition. The first day of the fest concluded with the debate competition on the topic Mass Media is disconnected from mass reality.
The main attraction of the fest was various stalls put up by the participants to show their entrepreneur skills. Total 52 stalls were put up related to designer clothes, accessories, decorative items, homemade chocolates and not to forget Chaat, Puchka, Pizza etc related food stalls to stop hunger pangs of the customers, were put up which is enjoyed by one and all.
During the end of the competitions, the judges from various fields who have judged the participants with Dr. Gupta, Vice – Chancellor of the university announced the results and prizes will be distributed on the concluding day of the fest.
Lot more activities like toggle, solo/duet song and dance competition, terracotta potter painting, photography, paper costume designing, Rangoli, cooking contest etc are lined up in the day to come.
