The young new sparks of The IIS University donning colourful traditional dresses received overwhelming welcome by their seniors at fresher’s party ‘Zest 2015’ on Saturday.
Vibrant ambience and impeccable mood had made the day of everyone present on the occasion. After seeking blessings from lord Shiva, the program commenced with a welcome note by Dr. Ashok Gupta, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, in which he said that good education and guidance prepares the foundation of a promising future and the university provides opportunities to its students to express and hone their abilities & talents to the fullest.
Now, it was seniors turn to take over the stage and took the juniors to fun-filled and enthralling ride. In the cultural programme, the girls were at their best when they performed on foot-tapping numbers from Bollywood. Some students took the program on another level while showing moves from western dance forms like jazz and Broadway. But the performance which stole the heart of the audience was classical dance moves inhering message of empowering women.
Not to miss, nightingales of the university mesmerized audience with the fusion songs through which they tried to tell their juniors that they are very special and will be there for lifetime.
Later, the much awaited Miss Fresher’s contest began. Juniors took over the stage looking their best in Indian attire to own the miss fresher’s crown.
The contest concluded in three rounds and was judges by eminent Fashion Designer Jaikriti Singh, Educationist and social activist Dr. Anita Hada Sangwan and The IIS University Alumna and fashion designer Neeti Bhambri.
Eventually, the results were announced and much deserving Rituparna Singh from UG section and Sayesha Lakhina from PG section were crowned as Ms Fresher of the year. Aishwarya Sharma was entitled as Ravishing Beauty of the year.
