Pennsylvanian students to visit The IIS University

A ten-day member student group from Pennsylvania State University, USA is coming to Jaipur on a six-day visit to The IIS University beginning from Thursday.

The visit is a part of an agreement signed between the two institutions in the year 2013 for purposes of academic and cultural exchange for mutual understanding and benefit of students from the two countries. The students will be accompanied by Indian origin Sakshi Bhargava who is doing Phd from Pennsylvania State University.

This will be the third visit to the university by the Pennsylvanian students. The group’s stay on campus would comprise student-sessions on a variety of topics for The group’s stay on campus would comprise student- sessions on a variety of topics for discussion and attending classes of Jewellary designing, folk songs and dances, sculpture, rakhi making, tie and dye, Mehandi applying as per the group members’ chosen area of study.

In addition, there would be sight-seeing, local shopping and home-visits. There would also be faculty presentations to enable the foreign students to gain a deeper insight into the state and the country’s educational system, especially at the tertiary level.

    The six-day visit of a ten-day member student group from Pennsylvania State University , USA to The IIS University concluded on Tuesday. The visit was a part of an agreement signed between the two institutions in the year 2013 for purposes of academic and cultural exchange for mutual understanding and benefit of students from the two countries. This was the third consecutive visit to the university by the Pennsylvanian students.

    Theatre workshop at the IIS University

    The IIS University Theatrical Society is organizing a month long theater workshop for the interested students that will commence from 4th August, 2015. This workshop would later culminate into a production and will be staged on 4th September. The major thrust of the workshop is to create an atmosphere to encourage and mould their personalities to raise questions, make decisions and choices with an awareness of themselves within the larger society.

    In an initiative taken by the Star Sports Pro Kabbadi League, the volunteers reached The IIS University on Friday to execute an awareness drive on cleanliness. A group of 23 volunteers visit the university campus and had an interactive session with the Journalism and Mass Communication students of the university about the Swachch Bharat Campaign.

    Hindustan University has announced Sports Scholarships for the academic year 2014 - 2015. As part of this announcement, the University will be holding the sports quota selections on the 17th of May 2014 at its Office in New Delhi. In addition to the University, the sports quota selections and sports scholarships will also be offered for the group institutions including, Hindustan Institute of Engineering and Technology and KCG College of Technology.
