National Seminar by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) at RIET, Jaipur

A National Seminar organized by Bureau of Indian Standard at Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and Technology, RIET, Jaipur in the Department of Civil Engineering.

A one day national seminar by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has been organised at the Department of Civil Engineering at Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and Technology (RIET), Bhankrota Jaipur recently. The seminar was focused on “The Importance of Standards in Education”.

Shri A. K. Sinha (Scientist-F), President (Jaipur Chapter), BIS and Prof. (Dr.) Surendra Kumar, Director, RIET, Jaipur presided over the ceremony alongwith other dignitaries like Shri. Pradeep Singh Shekhawat (Scientist B) and Shri Shiv Prakash (Scientist B) and Dr. Pawan Whig, Dean, RIET, Jaipur who shared their precious views on the importance of standardisation in Engineering education and practical laboratory work.

Shri A K Sinha shared his experience on varies issues related with the use of codes, and especially the importance of International Standard codes in employment in Civil Engineering industry. All the faculty and students of Civil Engineering Department of RIET had participated in the seminar.

Director, RIET, Dr. Surendra Kumar and Dean Academics, Dr. Pawan Whig focused on the importance of such kind of seminars for being inculcated in current education system. This seminar reflected an interdisciplinary aspect of engineering in which several other engineering disciplines are also used in conjunction with Civil Engineering.
