Pattisapu Srividya of Visakhapatnam topped AIIMS entrance test results 2014

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has announced the results of its entrance test for MBBS programme 2014-2015. Around 2.35 lakh students appeared for AIIMS MBBS entrance exams. The institute has decided to conduct physical counselling for the allocation of seats to be held from July 8 to July 11 in New Delhi. Candidates will have ability to choose institute during councelling based on rank obtained.

Pattisapu Srividya of Visakhapatnam has secured the top rank. She has shown outstaning recults in other medical exams too. She secured all-India 9th rank in Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) entrance test, 7th rank in EAMCET, 8th rank in Manipal Medical Entrance Exam, and 59th rank in All-India Pre Medical Test. She dreams to do research in molecular biology.

Finance Minister Jaitley: AIIMS in all states, 5 new IITs, 5 new IIMs

While presenting the Union Budget for the year 2014-2015, the Finance Minister Mr Arun Jaitley has announced several new institutions to boost higher education in India. He announced new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will be in all states of India. 5 new Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) will come up along with equal number of Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs).

Tamil Nadu strongly protests to withdraw Entrance Test for Medical courses

Tamil Nadu government strongly protested to the move to conduct an All India Entrance Test for admission to UG/PG (Under graduate/Post graduate) courses in medical colleges. Tamil Nadu wants that it should be exempted from the test and allow to continue with its existing system for admission to Under-graduate/Post-graduate medical seats. She has strongly protested the unilateral decision of the central government to notify National Board of Examination (NBE) to conduct entrance test for courses in medicine.

CMAT to be the only examination for admission at B-Schools in India for the year 2012 – 2014 ?

AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) has launched CMAT (Common Management Admission Test) for getting admission in all B- Schools through out India for the academic year 2012- 2014 Education Promotion Society of India (EPSI), an association of B- School and Association of Indian Management Schools ( AIMS) have objected to the idea of a single entrance test.
