UPES introduces new age IT programs in academic collaboration with Xebia

UPES today announced entering into an academic partnership with Xebia IT Architects India to introduce two new full-time B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) programs starting academic year 2017-18. These programs are B.Tech (CSE) with specialization in DevOps and B.Tech (CSE) with specialization in Big Data. Academic collaboration with Xebia is the latest in a series of partnerships that UPES already has with leading industry giants such as IBM, L&T, Mahindra & Mahindra, Philips Carbon Black Ltd., Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. and KPIT.

Indian Railways to set up Railway University

D. V. Sadananda Gowda, the Railway Minister has announced that a Railway University will be setup for Employees. The university will have technical as well as non-technical subjects. "I am contemplating setting up of a Railway University for both technical and non technical subjects," Gowda said. Railway University will provided summer internships for engineering and MBA students.

IIT Guwahati rated amoung the best young universities in the world

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) at Guwahati has been rated amoung top 100 young universities in the world. Young universities are those which were established in within last 50 years. This report has been published by Britain-based Times Higher Education and Thomson Reuters. According to report, IIT Guwwahati is ranked 87. Recently there has been news where India's premeir institution - IITs were struggling to get better ranked. IIT Guwahait is the only Indian institution in the list.

Kapil Sibal: Polytechnics can generate skilled workforce

While speaking at the second national convention of State Boards of Technical Education on 'Polytechnic Education and Achievements and Challenges Ahead', Union Minister for HRD Kapil Sibal told that Polytechnics can help in curbing the shortfall of skilled manpower in the country. "Polytechnics can generate skilled manpower for the country if they tie-up with Industry to upgrade their syllabus," said Kapil Sibal.
