Hindustan University Announces Sports Scholarships for the Year 2014 - 2015

Hindustan University has announced Sports Scholarships for the academic year 2014 - 2015. As part of this announcement, the University will be holding the sports quota selections on the 17th of May 2014 at its Office in New Delhi. In addition to the University, the sports quota selections and sports scholarships will also be offered for the group institutions including, Hindustan Institute of Engineering and Technology and KCG College of Technology.

The Hindustan University is renowned for its academic and sports excellence at both national and international levels. The Group has given prime importance to enroll the students those who have excelled in sports under the Sports Quota over the years. More than 200 students have obtained their admission through Sports Scholarship. The Group has announced that it would conduct the selection trials for Sports Admissions on 17th May, 2014 at its Office in New Delhi.

Hindustan University is known and sought after for its highly qualified and experienced faculty, academic results, research, excellent infrastructure facilities for curricular and co-curricular activities. Excellent platform is provided for the students to excel in the field of sports. Hindustan University is the premier institution that provides training of students by international players and experts in various fields within their campus as part of their regular programme every year.

The criteria for selection: The student should have performed & achieved accolades at the Nationals, Inter-University and State Levels in following games:

Men:

Basketball, Badminton, Cricket, Football, Horse Riding, Martial Arts, Swimming, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Martial Arts, Gymnastics and Chess.

Women :

Basketball, Badminton, Horse Riding, Martial Arts, Table Tennis, Tennis, and Volleyball. Interested candidates are requested to report at 9.30 a.m. at the venue with original certificates of Academic and Sports along with attested photo copies.

  • Sports to be introduced as a separate subject in Maharashtra State Secondary Education Board

    The Maharashtra State Secondary Education Board has decided to introduce sports as a separate subject in HSC and SSC. The new subject will be named “ Sports and Physical Education” and will be optional to SSC and HSC students in the academic year 2012 - 2013. The valuable 25 marks which is awarded to students participating actively in sports was being misused by a lot of other students who wanted to gain those 25 marks to increase rank. The proposal is still pending with the government.
