Yogesh Pai and Naveen Kumar win GIM’s Wizbiz 2014

WIZBIZ 2014, the flagship event of Goa Institute of Management was held recently at the campus in Sanquelim. Organised by MECCA – the Marketing Club of GIM, WIZBIZ was a resounding success with enthusiastic participation, challenging rounds and exciting prizes won by the participants and audience alike.

Conducted by the popular quizmaster; Avinash Mudaliar, WIZBIZ witnessed participation from TATA Capital, Chennai Silks, Genpact, Savoir Faire Media, Capgemini, Canara Bank, IBM, Viacom 18 and many others. Only the top six teams made it to the finals and after three rounds of fierce battle of intellect, Yogesh Pai (Chennai Silk) and Naveen Kumar (Sai Mitra Construction) emerged as winners of WIZBIZ 2014, taking home prize money worth Rs. 70,000. The 1st Runners up were Rohan Khanna (Genpact) and Amit Pandeya(Questa Software) won a cash prize of Rs. 40,000. Ameya Mardolkar (Splash communications) and Parind Phadte (Creative Capsule Infotech) were the 2nd Runners up and took home prize money worth Rs. 20,000.

The chief guests for the evening were Mandar Nagarsekar, Marketing Head, IFB, Pawan Koul, Product Quality Head, IFB, and Nilotpal Nag, Business Head, IFB Goa. The quiz itself was an exhilarating experience with prizes worth Rs. 50,000 being won by the audience. Quizmaster, Avinash engaged everyone with his quick wit and interesting trivia. WIZBIZ 2014 concluded with a resounding success with IFB delighting the audience with special gift vouchers worth Rs. 3000/- to everyone present at the venue.

This year, WIZBIZ 2014 was proud to have been associated with IFB, Tulip Group, Dare2compete, SBI, Aguada Anchorage, Primo Bom Terra Verde, Dempo and Bank of India, UB group, Fratelli, Coca-Cola, Monginis, Magsons and CMM Arena.

Second All India IISU English Debate concluded
The Department of English of the IIS University has organized a ‘Second All India IISU English Debate’ on Saturday at IIIM auditorium. The topic of the debate was a very contemporary one ‘In the opinion of the house, an inclusive society will always remain a dream’. The main objective of organizing this event was to provide a nationwide platform to the students from various colleges and universities across the country where they can not only express their thoughts but also enhance and showcase their oratorical skills on such a huge platform.
State level debate competition- ‘Praash’ organised at GIM
Goa Institute of Management (GIM) recently organised its annual state wide inter-college debate competition- ‘Praash’ in association with Emotional Intellectual Society (E.I.S), which is observed as National Education Day. The topic of debate was Make in India: A dream or practical possibility? The Make in India campaign is designed to facilitate investment, foster innovation, enhance skill development, protect intellectual property and build best-in-class manufacturing infrastructure.
