Kiran Mazumdar Shaw is new Chairperson IIM Bangalore Board of Governors

Dr Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw has been appointed as the next Chairperson of Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) Board of Governors. She takes over from Mukesh Ambani. Mukesh Ambani has been chairperson for last 8 years.

"Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairman and Managing Director, Biocon Limited, has been a member of the IIM-B Board for the past several years. She is the first woman Chairperson of any IIM Board", the B-school said in a release.

Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw is the Chairman and Managing Director of Biocon Limited. She has been a member of the IIMB Board for the past several years. She is the first woman Chairperson of any IIM Board.

    Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has planned to increase the yearly package of its Director to Rs 1 Crore, a five fold increase from Rs 20 lakh. The new package will help in attracting the best minds to head the institute. Board of Governors (BOG) have already made up their minds to give approval to increasing package hike. Samir Barua's term ended in November, 2012 but has been given extension till next director is appointed.

    Anand Mahindra, the managing director of Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) Anand Mahindra has been nominated as new chairman of Indian Institute of Management, Indore (IIM-I). Jhunjhunwala had succeeded Bharat Forge Ltd chairman B N Kalyani as IIM-I chairman in 2007. Appointment of new chairman is done through the ministry and the matter is further discussed in meeting of the board of governors. Subsequently, appointment is confirmed. There are 16 members in the board of governors in the institute and 15 in the society of the institute.
