Pranab Mukherjee to inaugurate new AMU campus on Feb 20 in West Bengal

Indian President Pranab Mukherjee will be inaugurating the new campus of Aligarh Muslim University in Murshidabad, Jangipur, West Bengal on February 20th, 2014. West Bengal Governor MK Narayanan will be also be present on the occation. AMU has also invited West Bengal chief minister Mamta Banerjee, Union Minister of state for railways Adhir Ranjan Choudhary and MP Abhijeet Mukherjee, to be a part of the inauguration.

Aligarh Muslim University, Murshidabad will offer five year B.A. LLB integrated course, MBA and B.Ed

About Aligarh Muslim University:

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is a public university, funded by the central government of India. It was established by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan as Madrasatul Uloom Musalmanan-e-Hind in 1875-78, which later became Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College (MAO College). It was later named as Aligarh Muslim University in 1920. The first chancellor of the university was Sultan Shah Jahan Begum

Eminent speakers from Aligarh Muslim University, Dayalbagh University and Mahamaya Technical University spoke at length on the subject. The speakers dealt in details on the merits and demerits of FDI citing many examples.

    Three names finalized for AMU VC post

    The AMU Court has shortlisted three names for the post of Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) . The AMU Court is the highest governing body of the university. These three names has been forward to the President of India. The three shortlisted candidates were Lt Gen (Retd) Zameeruddin Shah, former IAS officer Noor Mohammad and former IPS officer Khalid Rizvi. The president who is the Visitor of the university will finalize the name out of the three names forwarded.

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has elected S Chandni Bi, assistant professor of history, to the executive council of the AMUTA (Aligarh Muslim University Teachers Association).
