Gold medal instituted in memory of R Krishnakumar by Ambedkar College

Dr Ambedkar College and many well wishers of late YCMOU vice chancellor R Krishnakumar have instituted a gold mdeal in his name to recognize his contribution to the educational sector. Dr. R. Krishnakumar died on 21st January 2014 at the age of 51.

The medal will be presented to 'best principal' of Nagpur University. Rs 1.5 lakh has been handed over to NU Vice Chancellor Vila Sapkal by the Ambedkar college managment.

Dr. R. Krishnakumar is associated with a number of social, cultural and scientific organizations in the country. He is the Past President of Nagpur Jaycees, Executive Member of the Grand Lodge of India and the Regional Grand Lodge of Western India. He also served as Associate NCC Officer in Air Wing NCC, Nagpur. After completing his graduation from Institute of Science, he had completed PhD in Physics from NU. He was appointed as All India Universities (AIU) secretary general when Pankaj Chande was president.

GIM Professor Dr.Nitin Upadhyay, wins best research paper at the International Conference of Technology and Research Management in South Korea

Dr. Nitin Upadhyay, part of the Goa Institute of Management faculty, has been awarded the best research paper at the International Conference on Technology and Quantitative Management in South Korea, for his groundbreaking work on Systematic Decision- Making Framework. His paper outlining his work on decision-making techniques and tools was declared the best paper from amongst submissions from nearly 40 countries, an achievement that speaks volumes for GIM’s heavy focus on world-class research.

Amitabh Bacchan accepts honorary doctorate by the Australian university

Amitabh Bacchan was awarded the honorary doctorate degree for his contribution to indian film industry. He was awarded by Queensland university of Technology. He turned down the award two years back due to attacks on Indian student. Amitabh Bacchan has acted in more than 180 films, over 40 years and is most popular actor. He said he expects the ties between India and Australia to strengthen with the acceptance of this award. He said education stands above caste, creed , race and religion.
