Professor of Indian origin appointed dean of Princeton University Graduate School

Sanjeev Kulkarni, an Indian born American professor has been appointed as dean of Princeton University Graduate School. Sanjeev Kulkarni is presently a professor of electrical engineering and director of the Keller Center. He will assume office from March 31.

"Sanj has a well-deserved reputation for excellence as an interdisciplinary scholar, a versatile administrator and a constructive colleague...I have no doubt that Sanj is the right person to build upon Bill Russel's many fine accomplishments as dean of the Graduate School," Christopher L Eisgruber was quoted as saying. Christopher L Eisgruber is the president of Princeton.

Sanjeev Kulkarni said "Through more than 20 years as a faculty member and administrator, I have developed a very deep appreciation for Princeton,"

Sanjeev Kulkarni was born in Mumbai. Kulkarni received degrees in mathematics and electrical engineering from Clarkson University, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 1985 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1991.
