All India Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE) scores will be used for admissions into Medical Post Graduate courses across Karnataka state. Thus Karnataka becomes the eleventh state in the country to adopt AIPGMEE. Karnataka state wanted to adopt AIPGMEE from 2014 on wards, but could not do it since the exam date was advanced to an earlier date than what was initially announced.
In 2014, admissions will be done based on scores from Postgraduate Entrance Test (PGET), which is conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE). PGET will be conducted online and the counselling for seats will also be online and will be conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).
