Construction for "Global Nuclear Education Center" begins

Dr Manmohan Singh, layed the foundation stone for Global Center for Nuclear Energy Partnership in Delhi.

Global Nuclear Education Center will have five schools for research into advanced nuclear technology, training and education, international seminars, and courses. Subject areas will include nuclear energy systems, radiological safety, applications of radioisotopes and radiation technologies, and nuclear security.

Central Government approved the proposal to setup Global Nuclear Education Center in Delhi in 2010. In June 2011, India and Russia singed agreement for establishing four of the five schools.

    Kris Gopalakrishnan, co-founder of software giant Infosys, has donated Rs 225 crore to Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISc) for setting up a Brain Research Center. The funds will be trasnfered by Pratiksha Trust, a charitable organization he runs along with his wife Sudha. The trust is known for funding education, research, innovation and entrepreneurship. Brain Research Center will focus on finding cures for brain diseases that are accelerated by old age. This center will recieve support from Centre of Nuroscience and other research facilities at IISc

    TCS plans to open world's largest corporate learning centre in Thiruvananthapuram

    India's largest Information Technology company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is all set to open world's largest corporate learning and development center. The center will be training around 15,000 professionals simulatneously, and 50,000 annually. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh laid the foundation stone for the facility. The proposed center will be based in Thiruvananthapuram will be located on a 97-acre property in the Technopark area of the city.
