National Education Day observed at Sanskriti Campus on 11.11.2013

Birthday of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was celebrated by Sanskriti Group on 11.11.2013. On this occasion, the Chairman and Executive Director of the Group addressed the students and the faculty members in the seminar hall.

Mr. Sachin Gupta, Chairman of the Group, informed the audience about the significance of the thoughts of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on education and his untiring efforts for spreading education- from primary to higher education level- to every nook and corner of India. He explained that as the Education Minister of India for 11 years (1947-1958) i.e. from the time of independence till his sudden death, Maulana Azad continuously guided the country towards reforms in education which included providing opportunities to the underprivileged children to get educated as he was convinced that the path to prosperity begins with education.

Prof. P.C. Chhabra, Executive Director, spoke at length regarding Maulana Abul Kalam Azad’s efforts towards maintaining communal harmony. He enlightened the audience about the fact that Maulana Abul Kalam Azad believed that India can become a strong nation if and only if all citizens of India channelized their energies towards constructive activities and maintain the spirit of brotherhood.

The students also enthusiastically participated in deliberations on the life of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and spoke about many incidents of his life, hitherto unknown to the audience devoted towards India’s freedom struggle.

Arrangements were made for telecasting live the address of Prof. S.S. Mantha, Chairman, AICTE, who spoke about the contribution of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad in spreading education in the villages, towns and cities. He advised the students to follow the ideals of Maulana Azad and focus on education so that India can find a prominent place amongst the developed and developing countries of the world on the strength of knowledge.

    The Department of English of The IIS University has organized the 4th All India IISU English Debate on the topic “Women make for better women than men” at IIIM auditorium on Thursday. On the occasion, Ms. Kanta Ahuja, Former Vice-Chancellor, University of Rajasthan was the chairperson while IPS P.K.Tiwari, Ms. Rachana Singh, Journalist and Ms. Ruchi Bhargava Theatre Artisit were among the judges panel. The university and colleges from across the country have participated in the debate. It has given the participants a national platform to express themselves and hone debating skills.

    Gurgaon, September 08, 2015: JK Business School (JKBS), Gurgaon, organised its 7th Annual Convocation 2015 Dikshant at their campus recently. 93 students received their Post Graduate Diplomas. The graduating students belong to two batches of PGDM: 2012-14 & 2013-15. Of the seven medals for excellence in academics, five were bagged by girls. Mr. P. Balaji, Director, Vodafone India Ltd. and Dr. P. V. Gupta, Member, Advisory Committee, MDU, Rohtak and Former Director, Thapar University, Patiala were the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour respectively on the occasion.

The exhibition commenced from Friday has showcased a collection of rare pictures of the achievements and unforgettable memories of Dr. Kalam. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Ashok Gupta on Friday at 10 am and it is open for all the students and faculty members of the university.

    A year long campaign has been launched for Right to education where headmasters from 13 lakhs primary school will be reading out Prime minister, Manmohan Singh's message on November 11, 2011. The message has been translated in to 14 Indian languages so that it touches the heart of the Indian masses. Shiksha Ka Haq or Right to education will set history as it involves lakhs of Volunteers and hundreds of community based organizations to participate in the door to door campaign till 11th November 2012.
