Tuition fee waived off for Girl students upto XII in Uttar Pradesh

Great relief for Girl students in Uttar Pradesh school as State Government has directed all government and government-aided schools to weave off the tuition fees of girl student of all sections of society.

This rule will be applicable from current session i.e for the classes starting from July 2nd.

The circular also mentioned that only tuition fees has been waived off, other fees like sports, development and science charges will be applicable.

Girl students from Class I to XIII were already getting these benefits under Right to Education (RTE), now students from IX to XII will be able to get benefits.

The move is aimed at ensuring that lack of funding is not a deterrent for keen and bright students, who wish to get enrolled at the Goa Institute of Management to pursue higher education.

IITs to increase fees by 80% in 2013

Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) is all set to increase the yearly fees by 80% for undergraduate courses. The fees will be increased to RS 90,000 annually from Rs 50,000. The final decision will be taken by the IIT Council on Monday. This hike was recommended by IIT Standing Committee. A government panel has recommended to increase the fees to Rs 2 - 2.5 lacs yearly. HRD Ministry has supported the idea to increase the fees of IITs to match those of Indian Institute of Management (IIMs). IIMs presently charge around 3 times that of IITs.

ICSE reduces Class x and Class XII examination fees

The council for the Indian School Certificate Examination which runs around 2000 schools (CISCE) across the country has decided to reduce the examination fees by over 50 percent. Its a good news for the student appearing for class X and XII in march 2013 Jose Aikara the chairman of CISCE said "We have decided to reduce examination fees from Rs 2100 to Rs 1000 this time"
