Three names finalized for AMU VC post

The AMU Court has shortlisted three names for the post of Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). The AMU Court is the highest governing body of the university. These three names has been forward to the President of India.

The three shortlisted candidates were Lt Gen (Retd) Zameeruddin Shah, former IAS officer Noor Mohammad and former IPS officer Khalid Rizvi.

The president who is the Visitor of the university will finalize the name out of the three names forwarded.

The AMU Court had drawn the panel through voting at a special meeting last month. While Shah had secured 97 votes, Noor Mohammad polled 85 and Rizvi got 83 votes.

The University has been without a Vice-Chancellor for a month now.
