Anand Mahindra will be IIM-Indore’s next Chairman

Anand Mahindra, the managing director of Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) Anand Mahindra has been nominated as new chairman of Indian Institute of Management, Indore (IIM-I).

Jhunjhunwala had succeeded Bharat Forge Ltd chairman B N Kalyani as IIM-I chairman in 2007.

Appointment of new chairman is done through the ministry and the matter is further discussed in meeting of the board of governors. Subsequently, appointment is confirmed.

There are 16 members in the board of governors in the institute and 15 in the society of the institute.

IIM Nagpur to start academic session in July 2015

Maharashtra state's first Indian Institute of Management (IIM) came up in Nagpur, and is now officially called IIM Nagpur. This newly created IKM will start its first academic session in July 2015. IIM Nagpur will soon launch its website for students to gain proper information.

IIM, Raipur celebrates its 3rd Annual Convocation Day

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) celebrated its 3rd Annual Convocation Day by awarding the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) to 98 students. Sunil Munjal, the Joint Managing Director of HeroMotocorp Ltd., and Chairman Hero Corporate Service Ltd., was the chief guest of the convocation. Munjal congratulated the graduates and asked them to think big, dream big and to follow their dreams with dedication. He also mentioned the importance of setting goals as the first step towards turning dreams into reality.

Kiran Mazumdar Shaw is new Chairperson IIM Bangalore Board of Governors

Dr Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw has been appointed as the next Chairperson of Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) Board of Governors. She takes over from Mukesh Ambani. Mukesh Ambani has been chairperson for last 8 years. "Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairman and Managing Director, Biocon Limited, has been a member of the IIM-B Board for the past several years. She is the first woman Chairperson of any IIM Board", the B-school said in a release.

Mahindra Group forays into engineering education with Mahindra École Centrale

The Mahindra Group entered into ever growing educational sector with an Engineering institution named 'Mahindra École Centrale'. This institute is in collaboration with École Centrale Paris and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) Hyderabad. École Centrale Paris is one of the most prestigious engineering institution of France.

IIM Ahmedabad director likely to get 1 Crore package

Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has planned to increase the yearly package of its Director to Rs 1 Crore, a five fold increase from Rs 20 lakh. The new package will help in attracting the best minds to head the institute. Board of Governors (BOG) have already made up their minds to give approval to increasing package hike. Samir Barua's term ended in November, 2012 but has been given extension till next director is appointed.
