The Institute has started functioning from the academic year of 2001-02. BENGAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY & MANAGEMENT, Santiniketan, has been developed on 125 bighas of land in the serenity of Santiniketan, the cultural and educational hub center of India blessed by Gurudeb Rabindra Nath Tagore. Santiniketan is merely 146 Kms from the Capital of West Bengal (Kolkata). It is connected by railway and is accessible by road from all parts of the country.It is a matter of great pleasure that BITM has been set up with a great effort by the Multiple Education and Manpower Development Trust.The institute have rendered a great service in connection with the fulfilment of the demands put forth by the students in the field of Technology and Management. I have noticed with pleasure,an accelerated progress of the institution,which owes primarily to the quality of training imparted by the faculty members and interaction with the corporate houses.In addition ,I thank WBUT and AICTE for approving all our degrees and post graduate courses and also exprss gratitude to the district authorities,West Bengal Government Education Departments,University of Technology and the distinguished persons and the faculty members for rendering all help to maintain the noble height that our institute has attained.

BITM is in the parts of meeting all the points mentioned above. The infrastructural facilities and laboratory facilities are being increased. The computer and internet facilities are better than many institutes. The teaching faculties in Computer science and Information Technology are very high in quality and quantities. The research and development process has already been started and a good number of research publications are coming up.
