Eligibility
The candidates for the programme must have one of the following
qualifications obtained from any of the universities incorporated by an
act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational
institutions established by an act of parliament or declared to be
deemed as a university under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an
equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government
of India, or an equivalent qualification from an institution approved
by AICTE.

A Masters’ degree or its equivalent in any discipline with minimum 55%
aggregate marks

OR

A Bachelors Degree in Engineering with 60% marks or equivalent grade
point average

OR

Any professional qualifications such as CA, ICWA and CS with a minimum
55% aggregate marks.

In addition, all the candidates must have secured a minimum of 55 %
marks in all their public examinations starting with the secondary
level. Work experience in industry or academics, though not mandatory,
will be given due credit in the selection process

Those who are appearing for their final year examination in the current
academic year may also apply. However, their admission to the programme
will be provisional subject to their successful completion of all
requirements for obtaining the relevant degree before 30 June 2009.


Age Limit
Candidates must not be more than 45 years of age as on
30th June, 2009.

Selection Process
Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria stated above are
required to take Common Admission Test (CAT) held by the IIMs.
Alternatively, those who have qualified GATE, GRE, GMAT and JRF
(UGC/CSIR) examinations can also apply in the relevant area of
specialization. Scores of any of these examinations including CAT taken
during the last two years (i.e., on or after 01 July, 2007) will be
considered valid. Candidates who have already obtained a two-year PGDM
from any of the IIMs with a minimum CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale are
exempted from this requirement, and can apply directly through the
prescribed Application Form. Such applicants are also eligible to get a
waiver of the first year course work and can directly join the second
year of the programme.

The candidates short-listed on the basis of their academic record and
performance in the competitive examinations mentioned above will be
called to Lucknow for a special test and personal interview for final
selection in April 2009 and the successful candidates will receive
offers by mid-May 2009.

Admission to the programme is open to overseas candidates including
NRIs and foreign nationals. Their admission will be based on GMAT/GRE
scores obtained within previous one year.

Reservation
Reservation for eligible categories will be as per Government of India
rules applicable for doctoral programmes at the time of admission.


Duration of the Programme
and Accommodation

Students are expected to complete the programme in four years. However,
under special circumstances extension of two more years may be granted.
The students spent their first two years for course work and the last
two years for research and thesis preparation. FPM is a full-time
residential programme. However, management teachers and working
executives have option to choose a flexible time frame to complete the
first two years’ course work. They are allowed to complete the course
work in four time slots of July-Dec/Jan-June within a total span of
four years. Moreover, certain relaxations on the two years residential
requirement for thesis work are also considered on the basis of merit
of the case. However, they are required to complete all the
requirements of Fellow Program within six years from the date of
registration.
Campus hostel facility is available for stay of married students with
their immediate family (spouse and children).

Financial Support
All resident Indian students admitted to the programme are given
fellowship and contingency allowance up to four years. Students are
provided with a fellowship stipend of Rupees 15,000 per month during I
and II year and Rs. 17,000 per month subject to completion of
comprehensive examination in III year and submission of thesis proposal
in IV year. An additional stipend of Rs. 2000 per month will be paid
during a term (3 months) in which the student is assigned academic duty
(teaching and/or grading) of up to 10 hours per week. Similarly, an
additional stipend of Rs. 5000 per month will be paid during a term in
which the student independently teaches a full credit (30 hours)
course. Those who are exempted from first year course work and are
admitted directly in the second year of the programme would be eligible
to get stipend only for thirty six months.

A comprehensive package of contingency grants is provided to all FPM
students. The package has the following components.
1. A contingency grant of Rs. 10,000 per annum in I
and II year, and Rs. 15,000 per annum during III and IV year of the
programme. This grant will be available for purchase of books,
stationery, computer hardware/software and travel related to thesis
work.
2. A one time computer purchase grant of Rs. 50,000,
which may be availed before the end of course work.
3. A domestic conference travel grant of Rs. 10,000
each in III and IV year.
4. A one time international conference travel grant of
up to Rs. 75,000 which can be availed after submitting the thesis
proposal.
5. A Doctoral Consortium travel grant of Rs. 10,000 in
III and IV year to attend the proposed annual inter-IIM Doctoral
Consortium.
6. Reimbursement of annual membership fee (student
rates) of one national and one international professional society
during III and IV year.
7. Reimbursement of travel expenses for case-writing
and field research during III and IV year, subject to a maximum of Rs.
50,000.
8. An additional national conference grant of Rs.
10,000 each during III and IV year for those scoring a CGPA of 7.00 and
above.

The Institute also provides certain additional facilities for
married FPM students whose families are residing on campus. This
includes
1. Reimbursement of
family health insurance premium.
2. School transport facility for children to those schools already
covered by the Institute’s school transport system.


In addition to these, they are exempted from fees, provided with free
lodging facilities. NRIs and foreign candidates will be required to
bear all the expenses including the tuition fee. Final year students
are eligible to apply for the Bharti Foundation Scholarship of Rs. 4
lacs.

HOW TO APPLY
Candidates, who are apprearing for CAT-2008 on 16 November, 2008 are
required to do the following.
a. Fill the
relevant circle for IIML FPM admissions in the CAT application form
(item no. 12), and
b. Download the separate Application Form for IIML FPM
admissions from
www.iiml.ac.in.


Candidates, who use their scores of other examinations such as GATE,
GRE, GMAT, and JRF of UGC/CSIR are required to download the IIML FPM
Application Form from the above site.

Download Application Form
A candidate is eligible to submit applications to a maximum of two
areas. In such cases, two sets of the application form, one for each
area, with all supporting documents (including copies of mark sheet and
certificates of all public examinations starting from 10th, experience
certificate, relevant score card, age proof, etc) attached separately
with each form may be sent together in one envelop. Completed
application forms along with a draft of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST
candidates) drawn in favour of IIM Lucknow payable at
Lucknow should be sent to the following address. The application form
can also be obtained from the office on request. Such requests along
with a draft of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- in case of SC/ST) must reach the
following address on or
before 31 January, 2009.
