Kurukshetra University announces M.Tech Admission 2020-21

University Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra invites applications for admissions to M.Tech. Courses for the academic year 2020-21

The admissions will be first made through GATE qualified students with valid GATE score and if any vacant seats are left thereafter, the leftover seats will be filled on the basis of merit from qualifying exam

Reservation Criteria

(A) Distribution of seats

The seats shall be distributed as under:
(1) All India Category including Haryana : 15%

(2) Bonafide Residents of Haryana : 85%

(60% of the seats earmarked for bonafide residents of Haryana will be reserved for the categories as mentioned at (B) below, as per State Govt. policy and remaining 40% seats will be filled from among Haryana General Category)

(B) Reservation of seats for Bonafide Residents of Haryana

(i)

Scheduled Castes

20%

(ii)

Backward Classes of Haryana (except Socially advanced persons/Sections (creamy layer)

27% (16 % for Block-A) (11 % for Block-B)

(iiI)

Economically Backward Persons in the General Castes Category

10%

(iv)

Differently Abled/Physically Handicapped

03% If the seats reserved for differently abled persons remain vacant due to non-availability of suitable differently abled candidates, it may be offered to Ex-servicemen and their wards (1%) and dependents of Freedom Fighters (1%).

(v)

Further 3% horizontal reservation is also provided to Ex-servicemen/Freedom Fighters and their dependents by providing reservation within reservation of 1% of General category, 1% out of Scheduled Castes and 1% from Backward Classes category for admissions to the various educational institutions of the Govt. and Govt. aided/institutes located in Haryana. As far as block allocation in Block A and Block B of Backward Classes category is concerned, year wise rotational system will be adopted. For example, if Block A of Backward Classes are given seats in the Academic Year 2016, the next Block i.e. B Block of category of Backward Classes will be given seats in the next academic year i.e. 2017 and so on. The concerned Chairperson/Director of the Department/Institute shall maintain a roster register for horizontal reservation of Ex-servicemen/Freedom Fighter & their dependents and carry forward all fractions till one seat is accumulated through different fractions over the year. As and when the total comes to one, a seat will be provided to the concerned category.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:

M.Tech. (Electronics & Commn. Engg.)

- B.E./B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engg./ Electronics Engg./ Electrical and Electronics Engg./ Electrical Engg./ Telecommunication Engg. / Electronics & Instrumentation/Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering from AICTE approved institutions with overall minimum 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA (minimum 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for SC/ST Candidates), preferably with valid GATE score. OR

- M.Sc. in Electronics/Electronic science from a recognized UGC approved University/ Institution with overall minimum 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA (minimum 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for SC/ST Candidates), preferably with valid GATE score.

M.Tech. Computer Engineering

- B.E./B.Tech . or equivalent in Computer Science and Engineering/Information Technology/ Electronics and Communication/ Telecommunication from AICTE approved institutions with overall minimum 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA (minimum 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for SC/ST Candidates), preferably with valid GATE score.

- M.Sc. in Computer Science/Information Technology/Electronics from UGC approved institutions with overall minimum 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA (minimum 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for SC/ST Candidates), preferably with valid GATE score.

- M.C.A. from AICTE/UGC approved institutions with overall minimum 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA (minimum 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for SC/ST Candidates), preferably with valid GATE score.

M.Tech. (Software Engineering)

- B.E./B.Tech.. or equivalent in Computer Science and Engineering/Information Technology/ Electronics and Communication/Telecommunication from AICTE approved institutions with overall minimum 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA (minimum 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for SC/ST
Candidates), preferably with valid GATE score. Or

- M.Sc. in Computer Science/ Information Technology/Electronics from UGC approved institutions with overall minimum 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA (minimum 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for SC/ST Candidates), preferably with valid GATE score. Or

- M.C.A. from AICTE/UGC approved institutions with overall minimum 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA (minimum 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for SC/ST Candidates), preferably with valid GATE score.

M.Tech. Biotechnology

- B.E. /B.Tech. in Biotechnology or Biomedical Engg. From AICTE/UGC/ICAR approved Institutions with overall minimum 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA (minimum 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for SC/ST Candidates), preferably with valid GATE Score. Or

- B. Pharmacy/ Master's Degree in Microbiology / Biochemistry/Medical Biotechnology/ Veterinary Microbiology/ Animal Biotechnology / Veterinary Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/Biotechnology /Bioinformatics from any AICTE/UGC/ICAR approved institution with overall minimum 50% marks in
aggregate or equivalent CGPA (minimum 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for SC/ST Candidates), preferably with valid GATE score

M.Tech. Mechanical (With specialization in Industrial & Production Engg.)

- B.E./ B. Tech./ AMIE (Mechanical/ Thermal/ Automobile/Manufacturing/ Mechatronics/ Industrial Engg. & Management/Production & Industrial Engg.) from AICTE approved Institutions with overall minimum 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA (minimum 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for SC/ST Candidates), preferably with valid GATE Score.

M.Tech. Mechanical (With specialization in Thermal Engg.)

- B.E./ B. Tech./ AMIE (Mechanical/ Thermal/ Automobile/Manufacturing/ Mechatronics/ Industrial Engg. & Management/Production & Industrial Engg.) from AICTE approved Institutions with overall minimum 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA (minimum 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for SC/ST Candidates), preferably with valid GATE Score.

M.Tech. Electrical Engg.

- B.E./ B.Tech or equivalent in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering / Electrical & Instrumentation / Instrumentation / Instrumentation & Control/ Control & Instrumentation /Power Engineering from AICTE approved Institutions with overall minimum 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA (minimum 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA for SC/ST Candidates), preferably with valid GATE Score

M.Tech. Material Science & Technology

- B.E./B.Tech. in Material Science/Material Engg./ Mechanical Engg./ Chemical Engg./Ceramic Engg./ Polymer Engg. or its equivalent from any AICTE approved institution with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks for SC/ST candidates), preferably with valid GATE score. Or

- M.Sc. in Material Science/Physics/Applied Physics/ Electronics / Electronic science/ Chemistry/ Nanotechnology or its equivalent from UGC approved institutions with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks for SC/ST candidates), preferably with valid GATE score.

Application Procedure

- Application Forms can be submitted either in online or offline form. Both Online and Offline forms are available on UIET website (www.uietkuk.org).

- For offline forms prescribed fees in the form of demand draft of Rs. 500/- (125/- for SC/BC/EBP candidates of Haryana) is to be submitted in
the favor of Director, U.I.E.T., K.U.K. Checklist of documents is available in the Prospectus.

Scholarship

Scholarship will be given to all GATE qualified students as per AICTE norms. Few Scholarships are also available for some non-GATE students from the TEQIP World Bank project subject to the availability of funds till the project duration.
