Gauhati University (GU) Result Revaluation Process

The students are allowed by the university to apply for revaluation/re-totalling/ photocopy of answer books immediately after the announcement of the result. Students can apply through an online portal. For revaluation/re-totalling/ photocopy of answer books, candidates have to pay the fees as prescribed by the University. The results will be declared online after the revaluation/re-totalling process. After the valuation, the marks will be entered in front of the examiners. Then, at last, the examiner will check and certify all the marks to the candidates.

Students applying for Re-Valuation of Answer Scripts should submit the application form within the 15 days from the day of declaration of the results. Students can opt a maximum 3 paper for Re-valuation. Re-valuation is limited to theory paper only. Students can not apply for practical, dissertation or project papers. The application form Re-valuation is to be submitted to the Principals of respective colleges for onward transmission to the University. About Gauhati University (GU)

Gauhati University is the oldest University in the entire North East India. It was established in 1948. There are several colleges, institutes etc. that are affiliated to this university. At present, there are approximately 326 Colleges/Institutes which comes under this university, which is mostly located in the districts of lower
Assam. The university was established by an act of the State Legislature: the Gauhati University Act 1947 (Assam Act, XVI of 1947) of the government of Assam in 1948. The first court meeting of the university was held on 26 January 1948, which is considered the foundation day, at the old Sudmerson Hall of Cotton College, Guwahati.

The university is in Jalukbari in the Guwahati city area. The campus has a hillock on the southern side and the mighty river the Brahmaputra is flowing on the northern side. The campus area has been developed into a small township, now known as ‘Gopinath Bardoloi Nagar’. It has about 5000 population including 3000 students residing in the hostels.

The university’s Krishna Kanta Handiqui Library is a designated ‘Manuscript Conservation Centre’ (MCC) under the National Mission for Manuscripts established in 2003. The library is the largest in Assam, holding about 850,000 books, magazines, and journals in its collection. It also hosts about 5,000 valuable priceless manuscripts, some more than 300 years old.
