International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai invites applications for Master of Population Studies (MPS) Distance Learning for the year 2014 - 18.

Master of Population Studies (MPS) Distance Learning Admission is conducted by International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai.

In view of the growing demand for intensive and need-based training in the field of population data analysis and inter-relationship between Population and Development, the Institute has started a Distance Education Programme leading to Master’s Degree in Population Studies in 1994. Deadline for submission of application for academic session 2014-2018 (20th Batch) is 31st July 2014.

Number of seats: There are 100 seats

Duration of course: 2 - 4 years

MPS Distance Learning Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:

=> Admission to this course is open to all those with a Master's degree from any recognized University in any of the Social Science subjects including Mathematics, Statistics, Health & allied subjects. Preference will be given to candidates having experience in population, Health
and /or in allied areas.

Application Procedure for MPS Distance Learning:

Prescribed application from and information can be obtained from the In-charge, Department of Extra Mural Studies and Distance Education, International Institute for Population Sciences, Deonar, Mumbai-400 088 in person or by sending a self addressed 50/- stamped envolope (25cm x 12cm) on or before 30th June, 2014. The Completed application from along with necessary enclosures (including e-mail ID & telephone
number) and non-refundable processing fee of 400/- (exepmted for SC/ST and PH candidates) by

Deman Draft, drawn from any nationalised Bank in favor of Director, IIPS Mumbai should reach to the In-charge, Department of Extra Mural Studies and Distance Education on or before 31st July 2014. The processing fee may also be paid by cash at the cash counter at the Institute and the receipt
should be attached with the completed application set.

The International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) serves as a regional Institute for Training and Research in Population Studies for the ESCAP region. It was established in Mumbai in July 1956, till July 1970 it was known as the Demographic Training and Research Centre (DTRC) and till 1985 it was known as the International Institute for Population Studies (IIPS).
