Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for the Hearing Handicapped, graded as ‘ Excellent ’ by the Rehabilitation Council of India, imparts professional training in the areas of Audiology & Speech - Language Pathology, Special Education (Hearing Impairment), Indian Sign Language and Media & Disability Communication. It provides clinical, educational and rehabilitation services in a whole life perspective for persons with hearing impairment and communication disorders and is also engaged in research and development.

Master of Education

Eligibility

B.Ed (HI) or any other equivalent degree from a UGC recognized University with 50% aggregate marks OR
B.Ed. (SE-DE) (HI) recognized by RCI with 50% aggregate marks and one year teaching experience after completion of the course OR
B.Ed. (Gen) with 50% aggregate marks and D.Ed. (HI) /
D.Ed.SE (DHH) or equivalent with 50% aggregate marks.

Bachelor of Education

Eligibility

i) For Mumbai and Kolkata eligibility is degree (3 years) in any discipline or equivalent from any UGC recognized University and on the basis of merit in the entrance examination.

ii) For Secunderabad center the eligibility is degree in any discipline (B.Sc / BA/ B.Com from Osmania University or its equivalent from any other University), with minimum aggregate marks of 45% for Gen/OBC/PWDs & 40% for SC / ST category. Selection is based on entrance examination conducted by Osmania University or on merit basis ( marks obtained in degree for optional subjects only)

Diploma in Education

Eligibility

10+2 passed or equivalent from a recognized Board of Education with minimum marks of: 50% marks for General / OBC & 45% marks for SC/ST/PH

A.Prescribed application form and prospectus can be obtained from the respective centers in person or by post on payment of Rs. 750/- for
General category and Rs. 450/- for SC/ST/PH/OBC by way of Demand Draft in favor of “The Director, AYJNIHH, Mumbai”.

B. The filled in application form should be submitted to the respective center(s) where admission is sought. Course name should be superscribed on the cover.

C. The downloaded application forms should be submitted alongwith demand draft of Rs.750/- for General Category and Rs.450/- for SC/ST/OBC/PH.

Other details:

i) For B.ASLP at AYJNIHH, Mumbai, seats will be filled through CET-Maharashtra OR National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) 2014 as applicable and AYJNIHH Entrance Examination as per the norms.

ii) Advertisement will be issued separately by West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS), Kolkata, on its website www.thewbuhs.org for M.ASLP course conducted at AYJNIHH, ERC, Kolkata.

iii) For B.ASLP at AYJNIHH, NRC, New Delhi, admission notification is released by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), New Delhi for admission through CET of GGSIPU. Admission will be made on all India basis. For further information log on to www.ipu.ac.in or contact 011-25302167.

iv) Seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC/PH as per Government of India rules including sub-quota of 4.5% as per O.M. No.
F 1-1/2005 –U.1.A/846 dt. 22/12/2011 of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

v) For B.Sc (ASLP) & M.Sc (ASLP) at AYJNIHH, SRC, Secunderabad (a) 50% seats are reserved for candidates from AP (b) 50% seats are reserved for candidates from other states including AP (c) Seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC/PWDs as per rules. (d) Seats reserved for SC/ST be first filled with candidates from AP & in the event of not getting sufficient candidates from AP vacant seats will be filled by candidates from other states ( Vide OU letter no. 114/D/2003/ASLP/III/ACAD). (e) Seats are also reserved for OBC candidates based on the guidelines issued by the Central Government.

vi) For B.Ed. (HI)/M.Ed (HI) at Mumbai and Kolkata centers, entrance examination will be held at all four centers i.e., New Delhi, Kolkata, Secunderabad and Mumbai.

vii) # For admission to B.Ed. (HI) marksheets of three years is required as proof of completion of three year degree course.

viii) * Seats for foreign candidates.

ix) ** OBC candidates shall be admitted subject to the approval of course affiliating University at New Delhi.

x) ***For Admission to D.Ed. SE (DHH) and DHLS courses candidates should apply to the respective centers with required certificates on or before 31st May, 2014.

xi) Those desirous of joining Ph.D. (Audiology & Speech –Language Pathology) or Ph.D. (Special Education) at Mumbai may visit MUHS website www.muhs.ac.in / University of Mumbai website www.mu.ac.in respectively & AYJNIHH website www.ayjnihh.nic.in. However, Ph.D (Spl. Education) will be subject to availability of minimum guides.

xii) Candidates appearing for the final examination and awaiting results are also eligible. However, for all courses the candidates have to produce certificate of declaration of results before selection meetings and at the time of counseling, failing which admission will not be considered even though they have qualified in the entrance examination.

xiii) Applications received after the last date and incomplete applications will be summarily rejected.

xiv) Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.

xv) Candidates need to fulfill University and RCI requirements.

xvi) The Institute retains the right to reject any application.
