Applications are invited for admission to the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, University of Calcutta for PhD Course and subsequent research work leading to PhD degree in Computer Science during Academic Year 2012.
Eligibility: MSc (Computer & Information Science), MCA.
The final semester/year students for the above qualifying courses may also apply. However, such candidates, if selected, must complete their qualifying degree before the date of enrolment.
Applications:
Candidates who wish to pursue research work through this Department should apply in the prescribed proforma by paying Rs. 100/- through a challan available at different cash counters of Calcutta University. The proforma for application is available in the website www.caluniv.ac.in
The challan is to be duly forwarded to the HOD, Department of Computer Science & Engineering. The completed application form with a copy of the paid challan is to be submitted in the office of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, University of Calcutta, 92, Acharya Prafulla Chandra Road, Kolkata 700009 by March 12, 2012. The eligible candidates will have to appear in a written MCQ examination to be held in this Department on a subsequent date to be notified later. The successful candidates will be called for an interview. The final selection for joining this Department as a PhD student will be on the basis of this interview.
Those candidates who have already passed UGC / CSIR(JRF) examinations / NET / SET / SLET / GATE / Teacher Fellowship or equivalent examinations need not appear for the written examination and can directly appear for the interview.
