Ph.D in Archaeology Admissions 2012 @ University of Calcutta

Eligibility:
* Masters degree or equivalent degree in Archaeology or any other subject (social science or otherwise) with the prior approval of the competent authority of the University of Calcutta as per Ph.D regulations.
* A Research Proposal (within 1000 words) has to be submitted on or before the date of Research Eligibility Test (RET).

Candidates have to deposit application fee of Rs.100 either by cash or DD through duly filled in C.U. Challan, endorsed by the Head of the Department.

• The eligible candidates who have cleared NET / SET / SLET / M Phil are exempted from appearing in this test and should directly appear for the interview.
• Syllabus of RET will be the same as for the MA / MSc and UGC-NET
Examination in Archaeology.
• The RET will be of 75 marks.

Last date for submission of application: 15th February, 2012 (Wednesday)
Date of Research Eligibility Test (RET): 5th March, 2012 (Monday)

    Eligibility: * The Ph.D entrance test of 50 marks for the eligible candidates will be held twice (depending on the availability of candidate) in a year and the qualifying marks will be fixed at 40%. * Candidates with at least 50% Marks in MSc (Ag.) in Genetics & Plant Breeding (or allied disciplines subject to endorsement by the concerned Ph.D committee) from any UGC recognized University are eligible to appear in the Examination. * Those who have qualified NET / GATE / SLET or already obtained M.Phil degree would be exempted from the examination.

    RET (Geology) at Calcutta University Application, in plain papers, in the prescibed format are invited by Univresity of Calcutta from the candidates for Research Eligibility Test (RET) in Geology to be conducted on 20th October, 2011. Candidates who have already passed any national level tests like NET, GATE, SLET or, have obtained M.Phil, or M.Tech, with examination scores valid on the day of holding the RET written examination need not appear again for the written examination. However, those candidates must appear at the interview-part of RET.
