Admission to the 3 - year B.Sc. (Nautical Science) Degree course at T. S.Chanakya, Navi Mumbai, Mumbai Campus; 4-year B. Tech. (Marine Engineering) Degree course at Marine Engineering & Research Institute, Kolkata, Kolkata Campus & National Maritime Academy, Chennai, Chennai Campus; 3-year B.Sc. (Maritime Science) Degree course at Marine Engineering & Research Institute, Mumbai, Mumbai Campus and 4 year B. Tech. (Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering) Degree course at Visakhapatnam Campus for the session commencing in August 2012 will be made through the Joint Entrance Examination 2012 conducted by IITs on 08.04.2012.
SELECTION:
There will be no separate Entrance Examination for admission to the above institutes/courses and only those candidates who secure Minimum Qualifying Marks for Ranking (MQMR) in the individual subjects for respective category in JEE-2012 will be called for counselling in order of merit in the month of July/August 2012
ELIGIBILITY:
1. A candidate must have passed (10 + 2) Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English. AND
2. Candidates belonging to General & OBC categories must secure at least 60% marks and SC&ST candidates must secure at least 55% marks in aggregate in the (10+2) Examination.
3. Candidates belonging to General & OBC categories must be born on or after 01.10.1987 and those belonging to SC & ST categories must be born on or after 01.10.1982.
APPLICATION:
All Indian Nationals seeking admission to the above mentioned institutes /courses must fill up the application form for IIT-JEE-2012 and also a separate application form issued by Indian Maritime University, Mumbai Campus.
(i) Application form along with information brochure giving the details of the Degree Programmes of the above Institutes, Medical standards etc. can be obtained from the following designated branches of Syndicate Bank all over India on payment of Rs. 1000/- (General / OBC category) and Rs. 600/- (in case of SC/ST category).

(c) East Zone : Bokaro Steel City, Bhubaneswar (Main), Kolkata (N.S. Road), Dhanbad, Jamshedpur, Muzaffarpur, Port Blair, Patna, Ranchi, Rourkela.
(d) South Zone : Anantapur, Bangalore (Gandhinagar), Chennai (Mount Road), Kochi (Kochi-Kotinukulam Road Main Branch), Hyderabad (N.S.Road), Trivandrum (Tiruvananthapuram State Junction, Visakhapatnam (Main Suryabagh).
(ii) The application form along with information brochure can also be obtained by post from the Indian Maritime University, Mumbai Campus, Karave, Nerul, Navi Mumbai – 400 706 by sending a self addressed stamped envelope 12" x 10" size with stamp worth Rs. 85/- alongwith a DD of Rs. 1000/- (General /OBC Category) and Rs. 600/- (in the case of SC/ST category) drawn in favour of Indian Maritime University, Mumbai Campus and payable at Mumbai.
(iii)The application form along with information brochure can be downloaded from the IMU website www.imu.tn.nic.in. Such downloaded application forms are to be submitted along with the DD of Rs.1000/- (General / OBC Category) and Rs.600/- (SC/ST Category) drawn in favour of Indian Maritime University, Mumbai Campus payable at Mumbai.
Duly filled applications are to be submitted to the Indian Maritime University, Mumbai Campus, Karave, Nerul, Navi Mumbai – 400 706 on or before the cut off date.
