Admission Procedure
* Admissions will be given strictly on the basis of merit list prepared based on the results of ERDF Common Entrance Test(CET) to be conducted by ERD Foundation, Guwahati at different TEST CENTRES of North Eastern Region.
* The Entrance Exams Date, places and times is notified every year by ERD Foundation, Guwahati through websites and leading news papers of the region.
* The ERD Foundation will publish the merit list based on the results of the Common Entrance Test in leading dailies and the candidates will be selected in order of merit from the list.
Exemption from the Admission Test
Candidates nominated against reserved seats for other North Eastern states, by their respective governments/Technical Directorate, provided they satisfy the conditions for eligibility of ERD Foundation.
Candidates ranked within first 10 positions in the Meghalaya & Assam Higher Secondary (Science stream) examination, provided they secure not less than 75% marks in aggregate in the year in which they seek admission. Such candidates must apply for their direct admission within 15 days of publication of their qualifying examination results.
10 % of seats will be filled through the quota reserved for the State of Meghalaya
5% of the seats will be filled through the quota reserved for other states of North east.
15% of seats will be filled through AIEEE. These seats will be known as AIEEE seats.
However, should a vacancy remain in any of the reserved category seat at the end of the counseling for ERDF CET seats, the same shall be converted into a general seat.
Test Centre
The entrance examination is held in 15 different locations of North-East. They are:
Assam: Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, North Lakhimpur, Tezpur, Nagoan, Barpeta, Bongaigoan, Dhubri, Silchar
Meghalaya: Shillong
Nagaland: Dimapur
Manipur: Imphal
Mizoram: Aizwal
Arunachal Pradesh: Itanagar
How to apply:
The Prospectus & Registration form can be obtained from RIST campus office / City Office at Dispur or any of the Distribution Centres given in the Annexure-1 on payment of Rs 500/- or form can also be downloaded from the website and submitted along with a demand draft of Rs 500/- in favour of “Regional Institute of Science & Technology” payable at “SBI Khanapara”.

Lateral Entry
For lateral entry students admissions will be held on basis of merit only. No entrance examination will be held for lateral entry students.
