Indian Institute of Technology (IIT- Madras) will be conducting Humanities and Social Sciences Entrance Examination (HSEE - 2012), on 6th May 2012 (Sunday) leading towards admission to Five Year Integrated Master of Arts Programme (M.A) for the Academic Year 2012-13 in following disciplines:
(i) Development Studies
(II) English Studies
ELIGIBILITY:
* The candidate must have passed the qualifying examination (QE) namely XII standard or equivalent or will be appearing QE in 2012.
* Candidates of GE and OBC categories must secure atleast 60% marks, and those of SC, ST and PD categories must secure atleast 55% marks in aggregrate in the QE.
Qualifying Examinations :
Candidates applying for HSEE-2012 should have either completed or are appearing in 2012 in any one of the following qualifying examinations (QE)
High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University.
Any Public School / Board / University Exami-nation in India or in any foreign country recog-nized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.
H.S.C. Vocational Examination.
Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
AGE LIMIT:
For general category candidates the date of birth should not be earlier than October 01, 1987 and for SC/ST/PD category candidates, it should not be earlier than October 01,1982.
EXAMINATION CENTRES:
Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Madurai, Mumbai, New Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram.
APPLICATION:
Application for HSEE-2012 is through ONLINE mode at : http://hsee.iitm.ac.in
Payment of examination fee is only through Indian Bank Challan, which will be generated along with the application. Examination fee is Rs. 800/- for SC/ST/PD (Male applicants) and Rs.1600/- for others.
Female applicants need not to pay application fee.
Last date for submission of ONLINE application is January 20, 2012 (Friday).
