Appearing for Joint Management Entrance Test 2011 (JMET 2011) is the first step in the process of seeking admission to the Post-Graduate Programmes in Management offered by IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee to the 2-YEAR FULL TIME Post-Graduate Degree Programmes in Management offered by IISc and the IITs for the academic year beginning July/Aug 2011
JMET 2011 is only a qualifying examination. Candidates have to apply separately to the Institutes of their choice. They are also advised to look up the details provided in the brochure about the programmes available in the participating Institutes. There is no limit to the number of programmes a candidate can apply to, so long as he or she meets the eligibility criteria.
HOW to APPLY for IIT JMET 2011
JMET 2011 Application Form has to be submitted ONLINE. ONLINE submission of application can be done by accessing the website of any of the IITs or IISc. There are two modes of applying based on the method of fee payment that you choose.
1. By Core Banking
2. By Demand Draft
The application fee is Rs.350/- for SC/ST/PD candidates and Rs. 750/- for all other candidates. After applying ONLINE, there are some documents that you will have to post to the "Chairman, GATE Office, IISc Bangalore-560012".

A list of Management Programmes and eligibility criteria to apply for these programmes in individual Institutes are given below. Please refer to pages 19 to 46 for further details. Students in their final year of qualifying degree course are also eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally, and their continuation in the programme is subject to the completion of all requirements for the qualifying degree and submission of provisional degree certificate on or before the date stipulated by the admitting Institute.

JMET 2011 Examination
Candidates will be required to appear in a single paper of three hours duration. The examination will be held from 10:00 hrs to 13:00 hrs on Sunday, December 12, 2010.The question paper will be in english only.
Before applying for JMET 2011, candidates must assure themselves that they are eligible to seek admission to the specific programme they are interested in. The eligiblity criteria for admission to the various management schools are different in various Institutes. For more details, the candidates are required to contact the Institutes to which they are interested in seeking admission.
After qualifying JMET 2011, a candidate has to apply separately to each of the schools / departments of management in various IITs wherein she / he wishes to seek admission.
Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI) for candidates seeking admission will be held at the respective Institutes.
