PGPPM Admissions 2011

Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) invites application for two year Post-Graduate Programme in Public Policy And Management (PGPPM) 2011.

PGPPM aims at strengthening the public policy and managerial skills of future leaders from the civil services, and senior managers from the social, infrastructure and private sectors. It is open to candidates from Government, and Non Government and Private Sector.

Eligibility-:
For open candidates
The candidates from other than government sectors should be graduates with minimum 7 years' work experience. They need to take CAT 2010 exam or they should have secured
GMAT/GRE scores between April 1, 2009 and November 01, 2010. Candidates should send their applications along with the application fees,in the prescribed form to:

For Officers from All India and Central Services
The application is required to be forwarded through the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India. Candidates should send an advance copy of the
application to

The application fee (no fee for Department of Personnel and Training sponsored participants) should be sent by a demand draft drawn in favour of "Indian Institute of Management Bangalore" payable at par at Bangalore.

For Open candidates (other than DoPT sponsored) applying with GMAT or GRE scores, the application fee is Rs.1500/- and for those open candidates who take the CAT 2010, the application fee is Rs.500/-.

Admission Procedure-:

Government (DoPT) sponsored candidates:
Group A Officers of All India Services and Central Services with a minimum of 7 years experience and aged not more than 50 years for General Category and 53 years in case of SC/ST/OBC category as on June 1, 2011

Open Candidates:
Open candidates from other than government sectors should be graduates with minimum 7 years' work experience and aged not over 40 years as on June 1, 2011.
Open candidates need to take CAT 2010 exam or should have secured GMAT/GRE scores between April 1, 2009 and November 1, 2010.

Selection of the candidate is based on two stage processes. At the first stage candidates will be called for interviews based on the following criteria:
Academic Background
CAT / GMAT or GRE Scores
Work Experience
Achievements (Academic and career related)

At the next stage, selected candidates will be called for an interview in Delhi or Bangalore.

The admission process is highly personalized as the Committee seeks to learn about each candidate's goals, interest in getting engaged with public system, present exposure to Indian and Global scenarios, and potential for success in public management.

It is proposed to select about 20 to 25 participants from the Open Candidates for the year 2011-2013 batch.
